How on earth have they given a penalty for that? What an absolute joke.
Clear penalty
Surely VAR has to reverse the decision?
Might as well kick a defender and fall over because you will be given a pen if that decision is anything to go by.
It's a simple case of umpires call.
The ref gave the penalty and there was no clear and obvious reason to overturn it.
If the ref had said no penalty then var wouldn't have overturned that decision either.
That's the theory but again it's subject to opinion.
I watched the Spurs game where the ref didn't give a penalty when a defender ran straight in to Kane from behind as he was going for the ball. The VAR ref didn't give it maybe because he didn't think it was a clear and obvious error too. But the watching guests said it should have been a penalty so if they are saying that then in their view it's a clear and obvious error. So again it's not about VAR it's about people controlling it and is all about opinions. Just like the UTD one, some say yes and some say no.
So to me something is wrong with the system and that imo is the over reliance of the VAR ref. The ref on the pitch should be alertedon these types of incidents and much more use needs to be made of the pitch side monitor by the actual refs.
I am in favour of VAR because the actual system is good. It's the refs who are making it look bad.
Clear penalty
Has anybody got a link to that 'non' penalty? I've been trying to find one to show my mate but only found the fans view from behind the goal. It's clear we're still pissed off with Peter Walton after 10 years, mainly because at 3-0 United would never have come back and effectively we'd have stayed up.
Corrupt git.
