Started to rebel already. Pointless & only helps proper ugly people feel it's ok to leave the house in daylight. Hand on heart I've not had covid so probably a bit arrogant but I lean towards the country getting going again & have done for months.

The first few months the so called experts said there was no medical evidence to suggest wearing a masks would make much difference so what changed

Working with the public, I’ll be wearing one at work, but generally probably not, although I guess I’ll have to see what others are doing. If the majority in shops stop wearing them, I’ll probably wear one, just to be safe.

Definitely will in confined or crowded spaces and until the vaccination programme has been completed

I was wearing medical grade face masks before the Gov changed their tune, and I’ll be wearing them (for a while) after they say we don’t have to.

Not from a personal point of view because I’m reasonably fit & healthy and not worried about Covid. It’s more about inadvertently passing Covid on to my elderly parents.

We’re going to have face mask burning party

Both of us have been double jabbed so if we catch it now then the vaccine doesn’t work and that’s more worrying
You can catch it after being double jabbed, it’s just that now you should be fine and not develop serious symptoms. I expect there will be a booster jab early Autumn, which might be tied in with the regular flu jab.

I don't think it is safe to go out without one. In my area. Daughter school year were kept off. Amateur Rugby league was called off. So it is rife. Other week I was glad to wear mask more than ever, I had filling done at dentist. My mouth was numb as fuck.

Until I get myself a car later in the year I will definitely continue to wear one on public transport.
I won’t anywhere else, but I will keep a no contact with others thing going on with anyone at work or anyone I don’t need to have close physical contact with.
I’ll continue to hand sanitise too, as no reason not to.
Out of 6 people who tested positive at a barbecue my daughters were at last week 2 had been double jabbed and suffered the same symptom as the other 4.

I’ve followed religiousy what the Government has told me over the past 18 months so if they tell me not wear a mask then they must know best, mustn’t they? Or is it all bollux?

What were the symptoms Lala?

Definitely no, horrendous things that need to be binned at the earliest.

Agree but I'll keep wearing one where I have to - just the shops really - because I feel the others around me are entitled to have others stick by the rules.

Binned as soon as restrictions are lifted - hopefully the 19th but not holding my breath.

Sore throat, headache, fatigued and mild temperature. One slept for 2 days solid etc.
They were young in their 20’s too. One of them a paramedic hence the double jab, not sure about the other one. But all 6 had the same symptoms.
As an aside they all returned a negative result from the lateral test before the PCR test came back positive 🙃

No never again they don't work unless you have a proper medical one.
My wife who works at the Vic told me the ones that they have been using helps them not spread the disease but no guarantee from catching it.

So crack on if you want to continue wearing one I won't critisize but equally when I'm not wearing one it works both ways so if anyone has a go at me expect a GTF. 👍

My daughter tested positive today with a lateral flow test and she’s had a PCR (waiting for result back), she hasn’t shown any symptoms but she’s been double jabbed! Asymptotic possibly?

Hopefully! Unless the lateral flow has cocked the results up in reverse this time !
Hope your daughter stays symptom free whatever 👍

We have just reintroduced them in school for communal areas. Covid is the worst it's been in our students and staff and we've currently about 200 students isolating.

I don't think the vaccine IS that effective tbh. It's something the World cried out for and was thus produced in the shortest time EVER!

I think the vaccines appear to have stopped infected people dying so do work.

In places where vaccine hesitancy has been highest it appears to have a higher death rate cet. par.

I'm grateful to have been double vaccinated.

Edited to add: I'll not wear a face covering in my general day to day life, but will if I'm back in the smoke on the underground etc or if I'm requested by a shop or somebody I'm meeting with.

Lala I remember you saying your daughters didn’t want to vaccinate. Did this episode change their mind or make them just as determined not to as no one got hospitalised?
I saw on Andrew Marr 2 weeks ago the scientist saying the vaccine won’t probably stop you catching it, it’ll just stop you being killed by it.

They are a visual symbol of thoughtless obedience to the State.

They’re also a great reminder that there is something to fear…

There will also be a large element of the clipboard crew at the front entrance of shops who are going to be gutted at not having the power to ask where your mask is?!

Back to normal job tasks now.

They still won’t be having it,

They tested negative after the barbecue as did my daughters boyfriend. We were all quite ill early last year and they are now even more convinced that they have had it and have some immunity.

But either way nope, they still aren’t having it.

Good point about hand sanitising. People’s hygiene needed to be better anyway so if there’s a limited number of positive outcomes from this pandemic, that’s one of them.

Problem is, as soon as they don’t have to, most people will gradually forget about hygiene, stop sanitising, stop washing hands regularly, picking their noses and then touching handles, surfaces etc, which we will then touch. Flu will probably rage again, as will bad colds and other bugs like norovirus which we largely avoided last winter due to mask wearing.

Isn't the point of a mask to help stop you spreading it but not stopping you catching it if no one else is wearing one?

I know five people who have been double jabbed and still caught covid. None of them have been close to being hospitalised though or even gone to their GP. That's the difference.
