I stand by my reply to TSSeasider but accept your knowledge and local experience. I actually don't think that the 'let's point out how bad it is under the Tories' approach is cutting through at the moment. Against my own preference for serious debate I actually believe it will take someone media-friendly who can ram Johnson's message backd down his throat with verve and chutzpah.

No, it's not working, but the evidence is there and Labour are being criticised for supporting the Tory approach to the pandemic.

I agree with you that it needs someone to take Johnson on at his own game. The problem would be another leadership campaign would be a disaster and PR for the Tories. Doesn't stop someone in the Shadow Cabinet doing it though. I get the feeling that Johnson wouldn't take part though.

It wasn’t faux outrage. That’s obvious from the number of people who called you out. The only person who half heartedly supported your op admitted he hadn’t, and wouldn’t, look at the video you’d posted.

You could’ve accepted you’d fcuked up and apologised, but instead you decided to double down and deny what everyone could see for themselves.

Anyways it’s been done to death. Carry on if you want. I used to read your posts with interest and still do on the footy side. But on politics you’ve blown any credibility you had.

If that's me you're referring to in your opening line you're talking shit again. I didn't comment or support fully, half heartedly or any other description you care to mention in the other thread. I simply criticised a coppiceman comment.

not failed in any argument at all. Cpppiceman made a general comment which had no reference to the content of the o/p whatsoever. And that's what I commented on. Really is as simple as that.

Sadly, the person at the receiving end of the rage may not have criticized the narcissist at all. Instead, the narcissist perceived the person’s comment or behavior as a slight and reacted to the slight. All of this arises from the narcissist’s low self-esteem
 
I watched Belgium v Italy and then sat in the back garden and played music at full volume as the neighbours had gone to bed and they have been pissing me off for a few weeks. “ Don’t say anything “ my wife says. Don’t need to I’ll sort it 😀

My last words on the events of yesterday are as follows:

Regarding Kim Leadbetter.

I said 'Well done Kim Leadbetter. I just hope she is her own person and doesn't rely on the death of her sister as her one and only contribution to the constituency.'

I watched last night's BBC News at Ten , albeit late, followed by the Yorkshire Local news.

During the main news, Joe Cox was named 4 times.

During the Yorkshire News, she was named 3 times and referred to another 4 times, that's seven times in all.

I can forsee Joe Cox being mentioned quite a few more times, which in some ways will be a weight on her sister's shoulders. My wish for her is to do well and not be burdened by the fact that JC was murdered by a far right nutcase.

She won the seat and deserves to be able to function like any other newly elected MP, and good luck to her.

I hope that clears that one up.

If it doesn't, then so be it the intention is honourable, what people read into a post is their business and not mine, and I do not appreciate having words put into my mouth or having incorrect thoughts aimed at me as truth.
 
equally so Cat, many are familiar with your posts over the years. And they are all pretty much the same. At least Scara offers contributions on other topics whereas you pretty much offer nothing else. Just as you were doing years ago. Single agenda poster.
 
If the intent was honourable, then the choice of words were very clumsy.

It would have maybe been better to say something along the lines “I hope the media and public ease off with the comparisons to her sister and give her the credit she is due for her personal political achievements” (which seems to be what you are now saying you meant)… as opposed to appearing to attack her and suggest that she might rely on her dead sister as her one and only contribution to her constituency …

The inference there was that a) she had won because of her sister, rather than her own ability and b) hopefully she has something more to contribute to her community than that.

I’m not sure that it could have really been interpreted any other way and I certainly don’t think other people putting words in your mouth or aiming incorrect thoughts is the problem…

At best it was your own poor choice of words and at worst political bias being expressed in a rather crass way.

So to sum that up…

You got pissed whilst watching the game and were feeling a bit brave. Not quite brave enough to confront the issue with your neighbours directly though, So instead you defiantly played some loud music… ooh manly stuff, I bet that told them.,,, (Jason & Kylie ?)

Then you came back in the house checked the political argument on AVFTT and thought that the people on here should grow up and so came on and also gave us the benefit of your drunken ‘grown up’ advice / opinion.

Good posts on the whole on this thread. Thanks. Starmer might be drinking in "the last chance saloon" or, to be more kind, "the second chance saloon", but there's no doubt, the country and this Government need a strong opposition.
