The ref got it wrong but I could see why, one leg was high, with studs showing. VAR has to do better in my opinion. Barnsley have younger legs, so that is one thing in their favour I suppose.
 
What exactly is the point of VAR? At worse that was a yellow card. Yes in real time it probably looked worse than it was but that is what VAR is for to come to the correct decision and yet again completely failed on delivering the correct outcome.

Get fuckin rid of it.

don't know who the var officials are. But when EPL refs get given lower league matches they sometimes come in for criticism for not making a decision which they would make in the EPL knowing that VAR could check it out. Is this a case of lower league officials not having the experience of using VAR correctly because as a minimum the var should have sent the ref to the monitor.
 
Isted keeping Barnsley in it, and only 6 ft 1 😁

Then Barnsley miss a great chance, just a bit of composure required there
 
keeper has had a blinder and tykes have been excellent with 10 men tbh.

that barnsley miss reminded me of our third goal in the 2001 play-off final. fortunately, the coolest man in the stadium, simmo, made it look easy.

i'd rather there was the odd error , its a game played by humans . there will be human error , its the nature of the beast ,this rule only works for the elite games with var .
 
Very courageous display by Barnsley only equalled by Dave Whelan playing on at Wembley with two broken arms and one broken leg....🤔

jeez, that's the cruellest way to lose, got to feel for them.

however much i dislike the wendies, BB is a great player and competitor and also a gentleman - he went over to kitching at the end and said something like 'you didn't deserve that.' class act.
 
Can I ask, that if we get to another PL Final we all them not to play any songs after the match.

No anthems, just let us chant.

bit harsh that, the pace on the ball has done him i think.

we don't see nearly enough diving headers these days but i would have prefered it at the other end. tykes lived to rue that earlier miss for sure.
