We lost it when Patino was announced injured. Callum Wright would do well to make Fleetwood’s team. We never recovered or have the depth to cope with a key injury/illness.

We looked tired from the kick off, very strange. Tried to slow the game down throughout. Looked like we were playing for a draw.
Only one to come out with any credit is Maxwell who made two very good saves. Couldn't do anything about the goal. Hopefully better on Saturday.
 
Very negative tactics by us against a poor side. I was at the Hawthorns Saturday and they were rubbish, cos sheffield utd took the game to them. Why oh why did we go with the tactics of playing for a draw. Very disappointing.
 
So disappointing after the last 2 games - bring on Luton.
Our squad is lacking quality and experience in depth. When a couple of players are out (even a 19 year old loan player), we really struggle.
Signing the likes of Bridcutt, Ward & Stewart, as 'cheap' options, may pad out the squad, but it's no good when they spend the majority of the time in the physio room. Yet decent players, who'll cost us money, mysteriously fail their medical!
I hope SS spends some money in Jan.
 
What the fuck is up with this team??? Same team bar patino played like Brazil on Saturday, tonight they play like Bromsgrove. Why??? Is it fitness, is it mental, is it the manager? Gutted about tonight, they were there for the taking and I expected us to tear into them from the off. Instead we are just passive and weak. Arghhhhhhhhh
 
That goal is chalked off in the PL for hand ball.

But we were poor today. Very poor.

We looked marginally better with 4-4-2; but still we deserved nothing.

I think it was better than Hull, bit that may be because I've travelled to watch it.

I hope we can stop model games as we appear unable to lift ourselves for them.

We need not to overreact or get wound up by the Nobbers; although we could write an open letter, it appears to improve performance.

cock and double cock. just couldn't get it together tonight. disappointed. thought we were too deep most of the game and let them play for what they did play. bad goal to concede,

think there was a lot of effort tonight but the quality through 90 minutes was a way off where it needed to be.

brom are full of players who are good on the ball but cant do much with it, disappointed that we couldn't take the game to them in the second half after frustrating them without doing much ourselves for the first 45.

Apart from Lavery some odd substitutions.

hopefully a lesson learnt and come out firing on saturday.

The best way to sum it up was like an FA Cup match where the Non-League team attempt to hang on from the first minute. They looked sharper, more organised, faster and had better quality on the ball.
 
When your best two players are defenders you know it's a bad night. No creative play whatsoever tonight. Like watching a Worthington team. Our midfield was the low point but Jerry looked tired too.
 
Just not good enough tonight from the off, they ran around and put effort in but we just looked completely useless, couldn't pass, take a touch, nothing hardly.

Wba had time and space whenever they had the ball, moved it quickly, were the team threatening.

Just utter crap performance, no quality, no obvious attempt to win the game, or was it just because they were better than us on the ball and couldn't get near it....

Terrible.
 
Very disappointing. Appy showed them too much respect. Stood off them for the whole game and let them dictate the play. When a team is rock bottom of the league, you go at them and frighten the shit out of them, not give them time and allow them to grow in confidence.! On to Saturday.

I think it has more to do with our small squad, it simply can't take the amount of injuries we've got, it makes it difficult for MA to rotate players. The players being brought in, or on as subs, are often less experienced than the 1st 11 who are relatively inexperienced thenselves at this level.

It's clear to see our transfer strategy of bringing young players in affects our consistency levels.

The winter break will hopefully do us a favour.
 
Absolute disgraceful performance.Dougall,Carey,wright,Connoly,all of them couldn’t pass water.the rest weren’t much better.if they are knackered give the young lads a try.poveda has never been fit since he arrived and corbenaeu is a one trick very poor pony I am sure a few young lads would have played their hearts out,we may still have lost but you have to try them.

Or a more sinister view would be our poor recruitment policy. How much did we pay for Wright? A club like ours can’t afford to waste that amount of money

Dougal is the international player experienced plays one paced usually playing passes backward, he should be stand out in our midfield not for those reasons not a help to the youngsters in midfield.
 
Not sure we deserved to lose that, but we certainly didn’t deserve to win it. Not with zero shots on target.
Seemed a bit flat from the off. Not our usual high tempo.
That blöödy WBA hoodoo continues. Another late goal conceded in this fixture.
Not much point Maxwell complaining about the legitimacy of their goal without the benefit of VAR. He needs to be stronger. Clatter the WBA player of you have to, but don’t let it dribble over the line.
Need to regain their focus for the weekend.

Rubbish. Good players still need good players around them. What hope have you got when you’ve got a kid running around chasing shadows in the first half. Second half we just continued to get outnumbered in midfield. Dougall isn’t that good to make a difference on his own but he shouldn’t be singled out for it.
 
Wow we've become a proper meltdown of a forum. One week we're going to be making the playoffs , the next it's get rid of everybody and spend lots of money. I watched it tonight and it was as poor as Saturday was decent. ?But thats how it goes. Bottom of the league or not the Baggies have spent some decent championship money on some decent championship players in a bigger set up than us .
They didnt batter us and we didnt, unfortunately test them...certainly not their keeper.
Sometimes on a wet , miserable , windy November Tuesday night thats just how it goes.
Make some noise on Saturday and put this one behind us
 
The problem isn't Dougall he can't do everything, and unfortunately, Callum Wright was a poor replacement for Patino. We just didn't have the players to play 4-3-3 with the injuries. Should have been 4-4-2 from the start and pressured them when we were fresh. West Brom has the more experienced midfielders tonight and kept the ball better. I was surprised that Grant Ward was not on the bench tonight, needed an older more experienced player with Dougall tonight.

I've called Dougall for a long time. But, against PNE he was dynamite, getting stuck in and passing quickly and accurately. At Coventry he also did well. The thing is, he's like all our players- good at somethings in some situations. Tonight Dougall was poor, as we're others. If there's anyone we needed to find a solution at half time it was Appleton. He couldn't and we lost.
