Which is the best movie soundtrack

On this topic, I was going to go to a concert at the festival hall playing music from spaghetti westerns later this month. Obviously that’s not happening now.

In a cheesy way, Rock of Ages was ram packed with absolute classics.

Cannot top the mashups they did...and did it pretty well.

More than words / Heaven ..... I love rock n roll / Jukebox Hero ...... Can’t fight this feeling are my favourites vying to be the mutts nuts !

some real belters been Posted.
one thing for certain is John Williams has written some brilliant Film Music.Ones which within the first few notes you can immediately link to the film or the film series.

Yep, we've got a recording of the tribute for John Williams from I think the Royal Albert Hall. Have to admit I've never seen a Star Wars film as it's not my bag but the music is phenomenal. He's certainly got a helluva back catalogue.

Totally forgot about Jonny Greenwood.....I looked up who did the score for Phantom Thread as it made the film.
Didn't realise he was in Radiohead and had been refused a place at music college.....and now he's writing full orchestral scores.
I have a whole spotify play list with his stuff.....really good shout...and well worth a listen

And just to add......."Stop Making Sense.....Talking Heads"....The Movie.

I am amazed that no-one has mentioned the most beautiful of them all, the music to The Mission by the late great Ennio Morricone. When I die this will be played at my funeral service.

A beautiful film with even more beautiful music.

Suppose Grease is a musical and Dirty Dancing not far off.

Saturday Night Fever of it’s time. 👍

Loved the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. 😎

Reservoir Dogs is decent.

It's no 633 Squadron but what is? Ron Goodwin wrote some proper classics.

This is the main theme music from a German Art House movie called Baghdad Cafe.......the movie is mah.....but the song is beautiful.
The number of people who have covered this song is amazing....but this is the original and the best version....

Assault on Precinct 13 - John Carpenter
Once upon a time in America - Morricone
Hanna - Chemical Brothers
Drive - various
Rush - Hans Zimmer

Ok, not a film, but I’ve been re-watching Shameless recently - bloody brilliant soundtrack.

It can't compete with some of the ones from above, but a piece that always set me on edge was the original Assault on Precinct 13. Harsh bleak electronic - set the tone perfectly

Film of the year was of course Brexit. Outstanding performances by Boris Dom Nigel and Mickey Gove. Wonderful soundtrack featuring patriotic favourites Land Of Hope And Glory- Rule Britannia- There Will Always Be A St. Albans and Maybe It’s Because I’m A Brexiteer.🇬🇧
