And Norbreck or Bouncy is not allowed. Tintagel for me. Very atmospheric.
She was hung out to dry by Harold Wilson who made her responsible for selling 'In Place of Strife' to the unions. She had no chance. Wilson should have taken responsibility himself and had he succeeded....no Thatcher.Barbara Castle-a great politician and vastly underrated at the time.Did loads for disabled people, introduced child benefits and built the Humber Bridge too. I might have to take this over to the other thread given she was a Euro-sceptic (smiley)
It is spectacular. Especially the walk up to it from Craster and then on to the Ship Inn at Low Newton. Bamburgh is also spectacular as you approach from the beach from Seahouses. Beautiful stretch of coastline up there.Dunstanburgh stunning
Copper Dragon brewerySkipton. It reminds me of school trips and my childhood and Skipton remains my happy place and I still visit a few times a year for a chilled out day. Coupled with a drive through the dales. What the hell is not to like

That was on the excellent Susan Calman series touring Scotland. Will add that castle to list of places to visit. For me it has to be a castle in Scotland, perched on an outcrop in the sea near Stonehaven.
Dunnottar Castle. Amongst those who have been associated with the Castle are William Wallace, Mary Queen of Scots, the Marquis of Montrose and the future King Charles II as well as Curryman who used to do their Health and Safety.
Most famously though, it was at Dunnottar Castle that a small garrison held out against the might of Cromwell’s army for eight months and saved the Scottish Crown Jewels, the ‘Honours of Scotland’, from destruction.
