Who has not been to BR the longest?

Talking to a colleague in Canterbury who always manages to get to half a dozen or so away games a year as a Blackpool fan and is an 'ardent fan'. Only found out last week, he's not been to BR since the Play Off Semi final in 2012! Anyone not been to our ground for a longer period of time?

This is no way going to be the longest but I brought my grandfather to BR last season after a 20 year gap. He was 98. Shed a tear or two. Unfortunately he passed a few weeks later.

He attended the ‘53 final and was a ST at Bloomfield Road right through to the early 2000s.

We also went to the playoff final at Wembley together before our PL season, but he never went to a PL game unfortunately.

Took me to my first game too in about 1990 😂

Miss you Lawrie.

Last game I saw was the 3-1 away win at Boro Dec 2009, last home game was a loss to Barnsley a few weeks prior.

Was sat front row in the west that Barnsley game and remember watching Brett warming up thinking "it's nice they've brought him back but there's no way he will meaningfully contribute" how wrong I was. Before that it was a home game against Wrexham with Colin Henry in charge around 2003.

Didn't miss a home game from 94-2003.

No idea why I moved to America, stupid decision really but should be back next year.

I'm sure that my last home game watched at Bloomers, was the home game against West Ham in the Premier League. I emigrated a week later (but saw us lose at Everton 5-3 on the Saturday).

I have visited the club shop in visits back to the UK, I remember Andy Grice serving me when he worked there.

Not been since the abandoned Huddersfield match May 2015. Yes i was one of the ones on the pitch protesting against the odious ones😡. I moved to Spain September 2015 so not seen the Mighty since.

It’s a shame that you’ve not attended but I think I understand. Hopefully, we will progress and you will not be able to refuse the “pull”.

Last time I went....I can't remember! Ricardo Fuller was our striker. Go to 3 or 4 away games every year though, mostly in Yorkshire as I've lived in Sheffield for over 30 years now. Still got my Chipping accent mind.

Randomly, I did wander in and sat in the East Stand just before covid. Nobody was about and the entrance was open, no game on.

In my days at Royal Mail I worked all over the UK. Blagged my way in to The New York Stadium, The Hawthorns and Ashton Gate on non-match days just to have a look from pitch level. The bloke at Rotherham pretty much gave me the full tour!

My brother moved to Vancouver in 1999 and has not set foot in Blighty since (great holidays for the rest of us!).
Has 5 kids and says he will have to wait for them to all grow up before he comes back.
That said, 10am every Saturday he is up watching us on Tangerine World - says it's been the biggest blessing in his life (that and reaching the Prem where he had access to every game).

Love this.

When I lived in Manchester from 1985 to 2000 I used to travel home and away with my mate Chris Seed . . he was a massive Seasider.

One evening game pre Premier League . . maybe about 2005 he got into an argument with a member of staff at the ground and wasn't allowed in.

As far as I'm aware he hasn't be back to BR since!!

Even in the Premier League season he wasn't bothered . . . I managed to drag him to Bolton away but only because I said I'd pick him up, pay for his ticket and drive him back!!!

Next level sulk right there. 🤣

Friend of my dad’s used to have 2 season tickets in the West posh bit with the directors pre ground redevelopment that he had had for years. When we got relegated from the old division 2 he carried on going including local away games until at one of the Rochdale away riots a brick just missed his head and he’s never been home or away since……. not sure I blame him????

I broke my leg playing for Wednesday fans vs Blades fans on the day of the derby. Went to clear a bouncing ball in the box and my own keeper, about 17st, landed on my knee and snapped my leg. The bone was sticking out but still under the skin. They carried me off and I watched all the 2nd half whilst smoking fags on the sideline. Missed 14 weeks of work.

Anyway, my mate blagged free entry to Hillsborough to watch Pool v Wednesday on the back of this. Mike Sheron scored and I lept up, crutches and all at the bottom of the away end. One of the Wednesday fans lobbed something at me that would have killed me if it had been a touch more accurate. Made a right clunk just beside my head.

Was it not 3-0 that night with St Ledger put on his @rse twice

Left the UK um 2008 since then and now been to about 5/6 games when back in UK ...some years trips back have been in June/ July... Last game was Xmas time versus Middlesboro during Critchey first zpell

Remember thinking during the NAPM years .. think that was 4 1/2 years that I would never set foot inside BR again .. weirdly that and Covid now don't feel like they ever actually happened.
