Why leave James Husband out last night ?

Does Appleton have any knowledge of how well James Husband played last season ? Incredible decision, particularly with Big Marv being out.

We’re in a shocking state with injuries and three games in a week is madness and making injuries worse. For all clubs not just us. 8 out last night
Husband as a sub still not fit. Williams just back
Garbutt 1st game since last season
Wright and patino just kids at 18
Bridcutt not fully fit
Madine playing with a groin injury
Thornley struggling with an injury too
My god the list is endless isn’t it
The way things are I’m gunna do the team for Saturday I think will play

Worrying times indeed. The break can’t come quick enough and hopefully we’ll have our squad back

Not fully fit so understandable, also three lefties across the back is asking for trouble, three lefties who are all very left sided. after Williams went off you could see just how difficult it was to play out with the two left sided centre backs.

i'll add that i dont think Appleton rated the squad when he arrived, and certainly didn't understand how they could play when on their game. He's dropped in numerous players to play his stated high energy high tempo game but in the main, but generally we don't play like that, we play a sit back conserve energy with five or ten minutes of high intensity. the exception had been the previous two games where we put together 90 minute performances.

Why is it more difficult to play with 2 lefties than it is with 2 righties which is how we started the season?
I agree 100% though it's better to have one if each.

Because they are VERY left sided, watch them when something comes in their right side, all three of them from last night and Thommo. I pointed out early in the season that Williams was uncomfortable on the left and it was creating issues as we played out from the back and we should be playing Juds or hubby alongside Marv. Williams only option for a pass if it was on his left side was to the left back or back to the Keeper, last year it wasn't so much of an issue because Mad uncle Richard was fairly two footed. Marv whilst not great with his left foot doesn't just use it as a counterbalance.
