As a Nobber I would just like to say Appleton is doing an excellent job and should get more time!
Who was then?Because it absolutely wasn’t a sending off. He wasn’t even last man.
im pretty sure there was no contact,Because it absolutely wasn’t a sending off. He wasn’t even last man.
That means, according to your logic Sadler, being a fan, hasn’t a clue either.Sadler is a fan as we all know by reading comments on here, fans haven't got a clue

The red was debatable, but instead of getting tight on him he just stood there, let him get past him, it was criminal defending regardless of whether or not it was a red. Only himself to blame and it's happening with such regularity with Marv that he's a complete liability.Someone else
But that must fall down to coaching because he was a rock last year. Most dependable player to put a performance in. Yet this season he’s made some absolute howlers and been sent off twice. The red was debatable, but instead of getting tight on him he just stood there, let him get past him, it was criminal defending regardless of whether or not it was a red. Only himself to blame and it's happening with such regularity with Marv that he's a complete liability.
attacking wise Jerry, Madine, Shayne, CJ, Carey all look to have cast off the critchley chains from last season and now look like they can score goals, if they can get possession. But defensively all season we have looked chaotic. We cannot defend corners, we continually have defensive players dragged all over the pitch, distribution from defence has been calamitous at times, we give away far too many soft free kicks in dangerous areas, the lack of organisation means we pick up many many more cards than normal (even with having shit refs) and i think the injury list will have something to do with the chaotic defending, players over stretching and over extending or going badly into challenges that if we had a bit more organisation we wouldn't be making. It does seem like some of best players have lost a bit of confidence.
Fortunately you or I don't have to make that decision but we are going backwards at a rapid rate of knots. No one had heard of Critchley before he was appointed.Easy glib suggestion. So what managerial , mid season genius have you got in mind ?
The equaliser.Okay I get its pretty shocking to concede straight from a corner but is that all on Maxwell?
The ball has come in low with pace and itrs bounced at the worst possible place right on the point of the near post.Okay some will say Max should be off his line anticipating that and take everything and everyone out to get on that ball but just look at the first men on the near post.Lavery was first man I think, will need to look back and see who the others were. They have done f all to cut that ball out. As I said it was a slightly tricky ball in to deal with and its not at a height where a keeper can just come for it and claim it.There are loads of bodies in the way of the keeper and if Max does come for that he has to get through all those bodies first and create himself a path.I cant see a way he can do that in time with the pace of the cross plus he is definitely anticipating/expecting Lavery and the other players to deal with that so that cuts down his reaction gap even further.
Am I missing something obvious here.Tell me if I am but that ball should be dealt with by Shayne Lavery and/or the others at the near post before its even got near the goal.
Referees, red cards, injuries, crap transfer policy, goalkeeping errors....none of them matter.
It's football. The manager carries the can.
Always has done, always will.
Please now may the Board make a rapid sensible decision. Before it's too late.
It was a bad goal to concede but shit happens, you could lay them blame in numerous places, Maxwell not reacting, whoever was on the near post, the ref cost i dont think it was even a corner, bad organisation in genral therefore appleton / coaching staff. scabby luck - take you pickThe equaliser.Okay I get its pretty shocking to concede straight from a corner but is that all on Maxwell?

I don’t think hit a lame corner towards the near post was part of that planOpposition have done their homework, test Maxwell at every corner , cos he is bloody useless !
Rob Edwards would be a good shout.Fortunately you or I don't have to make that decision but we are going backwards at a rapid rate of knots. No one had heard of Critchley before he was appointed.
This was definitely a not lose game. How wrong could you be?No it isnt. But would be fab to win and bring three points home
We are the 12th man tomorrow and we will push them to a win
Unbelievable. This thread has turned into a nutters' weekend out. I'm out of here.Going down to 10 men after 18 minutes isn't Appleton's fault, having a ridiculous amount of injuries and then a sickness bug, isn't MA's fault, having to play players who are carrying injuries isn't MA's fault. Not backing him and not backing Quitchley in January is not MA's fault. The fault has to go to the top. Sadler IS NOT the saviour all you sheep seem to think. I would be delighted if he sold up and went back to funding hedges or whatever it is he does.
sure, you don't like Maxwell but you don't half talk shit.Maxwell stuck on the goal line for both goals
Stone wall red, last man ,through on goalBecause it absolutely wasn’t a sending off. He wasn’t even last man.
I’m pretty sure there’s a specsavers open somewhere tomorrowim pretty sure there was no contact,

Yup out of work managers and coaches, out-of-work work because no one wants them. Rebuild the squad with what? Bullshit Ben has told the world we have nothing to spend on players, if we don't strengthen at Christmas we can assume the Critchley and Bowler money has disappeared, so again what do we use to rebuild the squad?Loads of managers would. Keep us up they are a hero, we go down they get to rebuild the squad and have a fresh start. It's a great job and a no brainer for a lot of those managers / coaches out of work.
Considering the complete emotional shafting we've all just been through this is a really considered post. I thought the chanting at Appleton and the chanting for Grimmy when Maxwell was clearly buying us some time were seriously regrettable. Both have to take some responsibility though and in particular Marv for yet another defensive howler. His recovery tackles last season set him apart. At the moment my heart is in my mouth whenever he launches into one. It could be he is out for four games now as I recall it's a second sending off. Time to take the captaincy off him and let him get his head together, and, when he eventually comes back into the side, make sure he has a good organiser next to him so we can make the most of his talents.attacking wise Jerry, Madine, Shayne, CJ, Carey all look to have cast off the critchley chains from last season and now look like they can score goals, if they can get possession. But defensively all season we have looked chaotic. I honestly think you could give Appleton 50 million to build a squad and it would still be at best bang average. There are of course extenuating circumstances but ultimately we’ve just lost to easily the worst team I’ve seen in the division.
That leads to a blame game. I don’t rate nor even like Appleton but i don’t think the terrible header back or the ridiculous karate challenge from Marv rests at his door. You can’t legislate for that and if ur a man down for that long the chances of a good result are minnimal.
So what does the club/chairmen do? Whilst I don’t think Appletons the man for the job I personally feel the squad is substandard so how can we fairly judge him.
I think quality reinforcements in January is the way to go rather than potting him. Its shuffling the chairs around on the titanic to think any other manager will make a difference with this squad/injury list
For some reason Marv has gone from a brilliant defender to a bad defender and because of this he's being caught out and having to bring players down. The red was debatable, but instead of getting tight on him he just stood there, let him get past him, it was criminal defending regardless of whether or not it was a red. Only himself to blame and it's happening with such regularity with Marv that he's a complete liability.
Mclean wasn’t eitherMaxwell was not expecting it. Maxwell to blame
I don’t rate Grimshaw either TBH. They’re both average. It’s genuinely like playing with no goalkeeper. I don’t understand the Maxwell sympathisers. He’s absolutely wank. That also falls at the managers door.
He did sell him short.Re ekpiteta sending off , dougall could have cleared it easier than marv could ,that header was terrible defending by dougall
Yep, they doOn a Sunday?
Agree, when I played (long time ago) you always had a player on the near post at cornersThe equaliser.Okay I get its pretty shocking to concede straight from a corner but is that all on Maxwell?

There was a penalty? The penalty decision was clearly caused by two mistakes, firstly Dougall allowed the ball to bounce, and that resulted in it being high
and him having to head back under pressure, but Ekpitetta made the mistake of stepping back when the ball was played and his body shape was square to the ball, meaning he couldn't get to the ball and couldn't recover to get in a tackle when the ball got pushed past him, making the referee decide as the last man it was deliberate to kick him.
We also got lucky with Madine's goal as he clearly pushed the defender to create the space, and another day it would have been
disallowed.
In the last 10 years, the odds of scoring from a corner of the top 5 clubs in the premier league with their quality of delivery and of
finishing is less than 3 percent. This means they have to take over 30 corners to score and then compare that to teams playing Blackpool who let in from a corner every game, clearly the blame must lie on the man coaching them to defend, and the quality of the defenders. Although I would tend to blame the coach as the players did much better last year Under Critch.
Not just sometimes, at all times. It really doesn't even matter why the majority of fans didn't want him, by appointing him they instantly created a disconnect between fans and manager. It rarely works or lasts long when that's the case. The board need to learn you can't just ignore the feelings of your paying customers. Many of us fans weren’t happy when Apples appointed sometimes owners should listen to the fans
Missed the game and wading through the misery on here. For me continuing with 433 and the midfield 3 that continues to get over run game after game is madness.
Bar Williams, Patino and Thompson 8 of the starting line up were here when Critchley was here. The coach has to get the best out of players and if you ask me Ekpiteta has gone backwards at a rapid rate of knots. Yes Keogh was an important part of the defence and wasn't replaced but I don't think Appleton is getting the most out of this squad. Add to that the stubborness on selecting Maxwell is alarming. There are of course extenuating circumstances but ultimately we’ve just lost to easily the worst team I’ve seen in the division.

What?No longer on the pitch.
Mine was in reply to a post about the referee. He didn't come back out for the second half, hence my post. What?
Stopping the crosses is an even bigger concern. We’ve struggled ever since Bridcutt got injured. We are more effective with Kenny further forward and Patino given more freedom to be himself.
The constant capitulation to crosses is the biggest concern
