WIGAN AWAY PRICES : LOSE! LOSE!! LOSE!!!

I can’t see us taking 4000 at those prices.

3000 Max probably more like 2500/2800

I certainly won’t be risking running a third coach for sure.

Forget our club agreeing or not agreeing reciprocal pricing with Wigan, Wigan have indeed, unilaterally “shot themselves in the foot”.

I believe “total ticket receipts” would have been bigger with the respective larger following at £20 pricing would have been off-set, by the respective increased revenue from a bigger following.

Then on top of that 2800 will spend a lot less total money in the ground than 4700 !!!!

Only time will tell wether I am right or wrong as to whether our following is :

1800
2200
2800 or whatever

Coming back to our club I don’t think Wigan will sell out all the East, probably two thirds so the same will apply to our ridiculous match day pricing with respect to the current economic conditions.

Shame because the towns business’s would have welcomed extra revenue from a bigger Wigan support……..So much for working “In Partnership” with the town.

I think the fact that we only sold less than half of extra home tickets in the East for the Derby on Saturday supports my point of view.

For Gods Sake! “Wake Up and Smell The Coffee”!!!

“TWENTY IS PLENTY” !!!!!!!

Especially when Season Ticket Holders (Like Me) Get their football for £15.61a game !!!

I fully understand under current economic conditions a lot of fans couldn’t find £359 up front “in one foul swoop” !!!

I’m glad that you are mentioning this on the board! I think you need to mention this at the next meeting with board otherwise Salder is going to become unpopular again like Oyston!

I’ve no issues paying £30. I look at it like this we were paying £25 in the premier league on match days( non st holders)
The electric and gas etc have gone up and it must cost the club an absolute fortune on a matchday. Our utility bills at the hotel have quadrupled this year
It’s not just match tickets that have gone up in price

I know £30 isn’t ideal for a lot of people but they have to charge these prices to cover overheads
I remember paying £34 to go to elland rd last time we went there and £4/5 for a programme which was some time ago now
People can either go or not go it’s up to the Individual persons finances etc

Don’t be so silly. Yes the walk in prices are too high but to even start to think Sadler would become unpopular like Oyston is nothing short of lunacy.
Just to contradict myself I’ve seen a few ticket stubs of other teams recently and there’s teams charging £21 for a National league game, I think Fleetwood charge £24 so prices are on the increase. (I do reiterate that BFC should not be charging more than £25 a game though)

Very good point, well made. I think people forget the bills that the clubs have to pay with electric, gas, floodlights etc.

£30 for an adult ticket isn’t ridiculous, prices go up it’s as simple as that. Compare these ticket prices with the cost of a ticket for a music or comedy show, those are much higher

I think some on here are missing the point regardless of how much things have gone up these clubs wanted to do deals Burnley a classic example but we won't so are getting smacked on the backside on our travels.

Can you forward this to BFC FAO Simon Sadler please

Perhaps the clubs can’t all afford to do the deals on ticket.
You’ve plenty a dosh lol so you’re ok haha

From the club's perspective, I'm sure the board are confident that they can sell as many away tickets to the likes of Burnley, Wigan etc at £30 as the police will allow, so cutting the price is a pure loss for the club, OTOH, for clubs like Wigan who've got 10,000 empty seats for each game, the lower price can be at least partially offset by higher attendances, and profits from non-gate sales (food etc).

It's not a coincidence that the whole "twenty's plenty" campaign was started by a club (Reading) with a 25,000 seat half-empty stadium and no local rivals.

I don’t believe the club had a reciprocal ticket offer from Wigan.

I checked the ticket prices from when PNE went to Wigan, and prices were the same.
Think it has just been Reading and Burnley to date

Ash suggested Wigan which is why he references them

Personally I can't see the Club doing it the away end sells out or gets close to anyway

We need to target teams who we haven't played yet and won't bring many and where we have fans travelling a fair distance

Running our of options for this season

Double edged sword were losing home fans because of £30 and getting slapped with similar prices on our travels.

If you don’t want to go don’t go, people just looking for any excuse, I have never repeat NEVER been influenced as to whether to go to an away game by the admission price, if I’m totally honest I never know the price till I’ve paid it.
Exactly.

When playoff tickets were £60 plus, did anyone think I'm not going to bother?

Glastonbury Tickets £340 (the cost of a Season Ticket at Blackpool) this year and it will sell out in a matter of minutes.

Twenty may well have been ‘Plenty’ over a decade ago, when the slogan was created, but time and inflation waits for no man.

That said £30 is quite expensive and likely puts a few people off.

I suspect there will be a lot of over 65's and under 21's 😂

As a previous Glasto festival goer, Blackpool fans have more sense.

One off special occasions aren't a good comparison.

This is regular money going out sometimes twice a week, certainly usually a few a month.

It adds up.

Doing well can overide proce somewhat, for a bit, but ultimately you need to hit the right price point to attract the masses too, under normal circumstances.

Yet the Wigan game is followed by a month of no outlay.

I doubt there will be much difference in money spent in the ground for 2000 v 4000. They can only serve so many in a short space of time.

That's a good point. We recently paid £30 to see the comedian Milton Jones at the Grand. We'd seen him before and didn't bat an eyelid at paying it. No pensioners' discount either! 😁

It lasted two hours - more or less the same as being at a match - and was much less entertaining.

We also went to see the Eagles in that there London in June. I don't like to think about how much that cost.

I wouldn't go to Glasto if they gave me £340, far nicer watching it live in the comfort of my own home with the surround sound system switched on.

I've heard that Bruce Sprinsteen tickets for his forthcoming tour are outrageously priced, but no doubt people will still buy them, live event prices are getting out of hand.
