Bloody hell for a minute I thought I'd just woke up after Cryogenic hibernation, then I realised it was the women's one.Who's going to win it?
Where will England finish?
Will you be watching?
For me, it's the USA to beat, but England have a great chance and will push them close.
Looking forward to it.
Remember it well. USA hosted it and Germany won it.No thanks.
Those that are watching it, enjoy it like you did 20 years ago.
You never see me on a golf threadAlways amazes me the people who click on these threads to make a point of how they're not going to be watching - would you click on a thread about golf and bang on about how much you hate that? If you're not interested, don't click the thread and move on with your life
It is Rachel Finnis Brown and she certainly likes the sound of her own voice...Started watching at Half time. Decent goal that for NZ, but the co-commentator (sounds like Rachel Brown?) going well OTT about it - already saying it could be the best goal of the tournament (!)
They are two poor teams, though - Norway living off past glories at the moment.Had it on in the background whilst working from home.
The standard is truly shocking.
Not just women's - their men have never won a match at a World Cup finals.New Zealand just beaten Norway 1-0 first ever win in the woman’s World Cup for them.
Australia v Ireland on ITV starting soon so a different set of commentators to get wound up about!I'll watch the odd game, as said above though the commentary is appalling, they must be under orders to never mention anything negative, the keepers are still crap as well, just shoot on sight.
The men played the finals in 1982 and 2010. Unbeaten strangely in 2010. Drew all 3 group games and knocked out. Wonder if they were the only unbeaten team ? They drew with Slovakia, Italy and Paraguay. Not just women's - their men have never won a match at a World Cup finals.
Scotland were unbeaten in 1974, they beat Zaire and drew with Brazil and YugoslaviaThe men played the finals in 1982 and 2010. Unbeaten strangely in 2010. Drew all 3 group games and knocked out. Wonder if they were the only unbeaten team ? They drew with Slovakia, Italy and Paraguay.
That must've been quite terrifying, hope you're okBloody hell for a minute I thought I'd just woke up after Cryogenic hibernation, then I realised it was the women's one.
It's strange reading that you were there last night when I watched it this morning in the UK!I was at Eden park last night for an amazing night for NZ football. The highest crowd ever over 42,137 for any game in NZ. First ever win at a world cup finals male of female. The emotions at the end were fantastic after what had started as such a shocking day for the country with a gunman killing 2 construction workers in the CBD. The game was a perfect start to the tournament and down to Welly for Spain v Costa Rica today too. Love football.
