Wonder how Simon Sadler is feeling this morning?

When Sadler give Critchley a four year contract, I expect they would have discussed the goals for the season. I wouldn't expect "promotion in year one or the sack" was on the table. More likely, "stop the rot, develop the squad and build a capability to get promotion this season or next".

Trouble is we are already frustratingly close. We can compete against the best in the division and if we had 6 more points, no-one would be able to argue we weren't in the mix. The margins are very fine.

The style of play, opinions on team selection and results against "lesser" teams has created an angst which in combination with a surprisingly widespread expectation that we should go straight back up is creating the obvious consternation .

As frustrated as I am with what feels like a missed opportunity, I'd be surprised if Sadler doesn't give Critchley until Xmas next season. He will want to build by stability and not keep rolling the dice hoping for a better answer (nor keep spending money on paying contracts off).

I think we are experiencing an imbalance of expectations.

Of course, because whichever way Sadler looks, he’s got Fans with influence trying to undermine everything he tries to do. The bloke is trying to run a football club with one hand tied behind his back.

We’ve got Dickheads stirring up protests because they’ve been blocked on Twitter for acting like absolute bellends.

We’ve got fans constantly pumping out this same kind of negativity on here and other forms of Social Media…

We’ve been on the whole “If we fail to win this game then questions need to be asked” train from the day the Season kicked off.

Last season we had the MSG ripping into a young loan player before he’d even kicked a ball.

There’s no question that our smacked arse crew will be up in arms if they don’t get what they expect on Saturday, because that’s modern football and modern life in general.

Too many big ** egos who got themselves a bit ** ‘famous’ in the Boycott years and aren’t prepared to give an inch for the good of the Club…
Perfectly put Sir!
