Sorry but I disagree. I think the fans have been very patient so far this season up until now.Reappointing NC indicates some basic lack of understanding of football and its customers, especially if, as an owner, you're prepared to play a long game in terms of improving your clubs overall position. And I've no reason to doubt that Simon Sadler wants to do that.
The problem is that NC was NEVER going to be given time by supporters because he buggered off and left us in the brown stuff. I'd be willing to bet good money that a totally new gaffer wouldn't be getting anywhere near as much heat from supporters because he'd still have some goodwill in the bank to allow for bumps in the road.
Simon Sadler would do well to understand that the mindset of your average football supporter is totally irrational, ignorant to the realities of running a football club and unwilling to even consider the notion that there are 23 other competitors in the race they want to win. He may feel that it's absurd to 'play' to such logic, but from a business perspective it's probably the smarter choice than trying to get supporters to think differently. It's never happened before for any club and I don't see it starting with us.
If we were playing decent football and we were eighth I would reluctantly accept it if there were signs of progress and we had a go.
What we have had this season is a turgid mess but the fans have still backed the team.
I agree though, that any goodwill towards Critch has gone now.
