Worst invention ever

Dishwashers
Tie up useful kitchen space and ensure you buy too much crockery and utensils for when the blasted thing is nearly full.
How many times have I heard cannot live without my dishwasher it is a godsend. Get real!!
I literally use mine once a year on Christmas Day, just because I feel sorry for it really 😬.. We’re going to my dads now as he’s being discharged from hospital in a couple of days so it looks like I won’t be using it for yet another year…

Ladies and gentlemen I give you the teas made….surely the most useless bit of kit going? How about a cheap kettle a teabag and a carton of milk for a fraction of the price?

The review section on Argos is a hoot too….the owners of these are edgier than Rod Stewart at the Royal Variety:

“Am OK with the item but it does not locate the teapot very well.

Oldbill, 65 or over, East Anglia”

BEST inventions.

1. Vaccines
2. Antibiotics
3. The Camera

WORST.

1. Guns
2. Plastic
3. Supermarket sandwiches - So much fat content and calories for so little sandwich.

A big shout out for Arnold Clark second hand cars, why are you always being driven so badly in front of me with your stupid yellow stickers? Why do you still have the sticker on, do you like the world to know you're paying way over the odds on finance?
Plastic is a difficult one Lytham. So many medical and scientific procedures have worked well because of plastic. It has enabled the relatively less well off to eat well. It has given the time-poor a chance to eat well. Of course, what you're referring to is the price we're going to pay. I'm with you on that one.

70's - Clackers
80's - the mullet
90's - the Microsoft paperclip assistant - bastard!
Noughties - R&B and urban music in general - though some was around earlier I reckon it's in the last 20 years that this manufactured pseudo musical pox has boomed, coinciding with the interminable decline of rock and roll as we know it. Glad to get that one off my chest 🏝️ 😗

You know you just got old?

The mobile phone when they started to add decent cameras and the internet etc. People are no longer present and enjoying the
company of others, or enjoying live music etc. If you watch the crowd at Live Aid enjoying and being involved in the live performance,
and you compare that today when everyone is filming on their phone or messaging their friends it's quite sad.

Electricity / Gas smart meter.

A device that collects data on you to be sold on but is marketed as something that tells you that you are using electric or gas…..

Really? I wondered why my TV was on and showing moving pictures in that heated lounge.

It can help you save money apparently by informing you that you are using gas / electric just in case you forgot. You can then save money by turning off the heating and TV just in case you didn’t notice they were working.

Genius marketing ploy and general fire hazard with almost no value to the person it was forced upon

Sorry Fatboy, I haven't been to Tranmere for many years, so I can't recall the pub's name (a quick Google only suggested The Prenton, so you were probably in a different pub, as you would have remembered that name).

You've done well to find a decent pint. I never managed it, and I once drank Greenalls in Warrington and St Helens where you'd expect it to be decent, that being it's home!!
It was The Prenton, and I think it was shut down by the time we went again, but I will admit that was the only time I have ever had a reasonable pint of GFW bitter. ( maybe I was exaggerating when I said decent ) 😜

Have to disagree about the clackers.. I played with mine all the time and thought they were ‘ace.’ 😬😬

Cannot believe that for the best invention no one has mentioned the Ronco buttoneer.
( for posters of a certain age😉)
