Would you play Lavery tonight?

Bit of a marked man after Saturday. Don't want a second string Rams player with nothing to lose hacking him down and injuring him? Anyone else give him the night off?

If Joseph needs some minutes Critch might want to see him upfront with SL but l wouldn’t risk him given our shortfalls upfront.

Beesley and Dale will be upfront. Lavery on the bench.

He might even play Beesley with both Apter and Dale behind him. Then Dougall and Virtue in the middle.

Shouldnt be starting. If we had signed Banks and Moxon and Joseph was fit then maybe but as things stand I wouldn't even put him on the bench.
He is too important to us right now but if we had a bit more fire power in the squad I would be fine with him starting.

Not sure sometimes players need game time at the start of a season so when the 11 are named at this time of the year in this cup 1st round often guaranteed first teamers play.

With 3 league games in 8 days from Saturday I wouldn't start with Shayne.

Another vote to rest Lavery and the XI who started on saturday!

Give minutes to the players on the bench on Saturday and other squad players!

It also gives Trybull the opportunity to show his class and get that desired move to a Champions League club! 😂

You cant make 11 changes

Competition rules state that so many who played in the league have to play if I remember rightly
Presumably the rule is that the club has to play its strongest available side, but 3 days after the first game of the season, I don't think the rule is going to be enforced too firmly unless we start playing the kids.

I might be wrong but I'm Pretty sure it's so many of the team from the previous League game

As @BFC_Aspie says that's for the Papa John's Trophy, which says that the club has to play 4 qualifying players, which means either they started the last game or have made forty or more first team starts for any club (doesn't specify if this is EFL).

For the EFL Cup, the rules seem to be "full available strength", but it doesn't seem to specify what that is.

Frustratingly, the rules for the competition don't appear to be published anywhere.

With a long away trip in the league coming up on Saturday, I’d like to see Lavery, Norburn etc given the night off to rest.
