No it wasn't ,because as we didn't waist time passing it around at the back and got the ball upfield as quick as possible Madine was getting plenty of the ball and was having the best game he had played for weeks. That was until he lost his head and assaulted their player. We just needed that bit of luck and their man being sent off for the pull back on Yates who was through on goal.

It was awful Madine was upfront by himself with the ball just launched to him from every possible angle

It was shite football

How long have we been asking not to play it around at the back and get the ball forward . When Madine was on the pitch he was getting plenty of the ball . When he went off thats when we started losing possession more,but I bet they were told to get the ball up the other end as quickly as possible and that's what I want and most others.

Also before you can call our back 4 being crap ,you do a better job . Its easy to insult people if you are good at being a couch potato.

yep, the football was dire but I do agree for once with WOT in that that style of play does suit Madine and up to his sending off I thought he was playing really well.

Are you not one of the fans that posted that you didn't care about how points were won ,you just wanted MM to save us from relegation. Well if not ,most of us were . He's had 1 game in charge of a game we were likely to win and you don't know how his tactics are going to be for the rest of the season . He may adapt different tactics for different games .You have no idea. So why don't you wait for 5or 6 games and then see what happens . You may look stupid jumping in too early and don't get me wrong after a few boring games that we lose, I will join you.

Easily pleased. First 15 minutes were ok but the other 30 minutes was one of the worst home performances seen a long time. Probably would have to go back to the Colin Hendry days.

Madine on his own upfront is a proven concept that doesn’t work. McCarthy should have done his research and known this.

clearly for some reason some do. IF,IF,IF it gets us the wins we need then fair enough but I suppose for now we'll have to see how it pans out. Saturdays team selection will be interesting. Can't really second guess what he'll do but I'll be surprised if Carey starts.

Might as well send Poveda, Bowler and Patino back if they aren't going to start

CJ 's game has improved and Bowler has been promised a starting place as long as he works hard coming back .

you're making that up. Show me any evidence that Bowler has been promised a place? No manager would do that and nor should he. Telling a player what he needs to do is most certainly not promising him a place.
 
Tuesday was a weird game. Wrong attacking team selection, poor first half. Red card. Second half we win with ten men and we got Bowler and Rogers on the pitch and their runs led to two goals.

We just need Mick to realise we need more of that, cos that is where our strength is and where our goals will come from. He's got the evidence now from that last 20 minutes, let's hope he learns from it.

Firstly, you sad sad man.
Who on earth looks back to posts made three weeks ago?
Would you not agree that that the team put in a hell of a lot more effort than previously this season?
Even Madine was sprinting and closing down.
The ball was moved quickly and the tackles were plenty.
Douglas was more advanced and more mobile, the whole starting team put in a shift.
Trybul was excellent, Nelson was immense.

There were improvements all over the pitch but still some people moan.
Had Madine not been sent off we, I am under no doubt, would have won.
Is Madines indiscretion MMs fault? Was Nelson's mistake that lead to the first goal down to MM.
Carey's miss in the first half.....Mick's fault?
All players who many many people would have chosen to start....
Some people are glass half full some half empty. You are the latter......always critical due to your superior knowledge of the game.

I think we did play better than quite a few games, intact most.
14 players put in a great shift. One let the manager and supporters down.
10 men against another team scrambling like us is a great result ....

What he says is that Bowler has great ability and he was played in midfield to see if he could get extra from him . If he works hard he should never be left out of the stating line up . If you google MM on my computer all the latest news and quotes about him are on there ,so you may be able to read it yourself.
 
4231 on Saturday the team should practically pick itself. Squad rotation maybe use Thorniley for Connolly @ CB & Rodgers for CJ & Proveda for Carey. In Madine's absence there's plenty of room for Bowler with Yates as the lone striker & you would be mad to drop Lyons. There's still options to freshen it up on the bench. Let's hope we go home as happy as I was on Tuesday night, but not with a game that at the end felt like a win, but with an actual 3 points.

Brilliant stuff you utter clown.. Go and look at my posting history over the last few days. I've said a few times that I came away from the ground buzzing. Lee Charles video if you want to check. I've also said that the team put in a helluva shift to stay in the game with their workrate. I've said Madine was having a very good game up to his sending off. The ball wasn't moved quiclky, it was lumped forward quickly. There was no plan to get the ball down and pass it for pretty much any area on the pitch. Our midfield could only simply look upwards whenever either Maxwell or any of our defenders had the ball. Totally bypassed. And who the fuck is Douglas, not the first time you've called DOUGALL, Douglas is it?

You've only speculation to rely on for thinking we'd have won. Based on the square root of nothing. We created one chance in that first half? Some improvement that eh? Have I blamed MM for Madines sending off, or Careys miss? Nope, so why make stuff up that has no relevance. Tell me about these many people who you say would have selected the players to start? And then go and have a look at the matchday thread when the team was announced an hour before kick off. Any criticism from me? . Nope, just a comment that I was a bit surprised but would wait to see how it goes?

If you think we played better than in most other games then you're entitled to your opinion but I'd suggest the strength of feeling on here is that we didn't!

And finally, go again and have a look at my posting history and read that I'm fine with hoofball if it gets the wins we need. Now even with eleven men on the pitch for the first half, hoofball wasn't bringing us any success but Huddersfield still managed to score. So yep, damn right I'll question why McCarthy didn't change his tactics as soon as we went one down. It was fifty minutes later when he decided to introduce Bowler which the fans had been clamouring for since shortly after half time. And yep, it was Bowler getting on the ball which made a difference.

So off you pop, and start doing your checks.

If he doesn't start and we win then no problem. Said that a few times already. It's if we don't win and it's the same brand of football and no Bowler that I will have a problem with.
 
If he's match fit there shouldn't really be a debate or rows about playing Bowler, he seems a great lad, wants to be hear and do well for the club and he gives the team and fans a bit of a lift which we desperately need

We can't over power teams, we are not big or strong enough to win matches like that. Rotherham will love it if we try to beat them Wimbledon style.

I think after Tuesday MM will know that and will play a couple of our more talented players from the start, hopefully and including Poveda.

If he does we still have a chance of staying up.

Come on MM, galvanise the club, your only here for a few games, get upbeat and be positive in your approach to matches and communications with the fans, we can 100% do it.
