We have a player sent off.
We started with Madine CJ and Yates as our attackers.
Douglas was pushed further up the pitch with Carey. Trybul was the holding midfield man.
Solid back four of Connolly Goode Nelson and Husband.

Patino is NOT the man for now.
Poveda.....I was disappointed he didn't start but again, does he have that aggression that's needed?
Bowler was awful on Saturday.
He plays against Rotherham.
Could you drop CJ after Saturday. I couldn't.
Lyons is just starting his career in a massive step up but looks the part. At fault for their second. Scored a screamer.
Rogers....no, not a starter.....breathing through his Arris and only played 25 mins or so.

I actually agree with most of that.
 
The back four are crap, with the exception of Lyons, all they do is hit a long high ball to the opposition and back it comes. Unable to pass it out because sorry but they ain’t good enough. We need Marv back alongside Thorniley, Gabriel and Lyons as full backs- Not going to happen for a while and may be too late. However a win Saturday will be most welcome
 
Looked like a 4-3-3 set up to me, Dougall, Trybull and Carey in the middle, with Yates and CJ playing either side of Madine. So Yates was right wing in the first half, but when Madine went off, Yates played the lone striker role.

I dont think Thorniley will get a look in as none of the managers who have had him has played him consistently...hes just too slow and costs us way too many goals...how anyone can put Connolly in front of Lyons at right back is astounding tbh.

So, a back four of an unfit Gabriel, an unfit Marv, Thornilly who every manager isn't exactly enamoured to, and Lyons who has just arrived a month ago......hmmm......that's not going to be very good on Saturday is it?

Would you have also told the team to launch it in the vague direction of a 2nd rate centre forward that can't run and rarely scores?
Starting 11 was wrong and style of play abysmal, 2 points dropped.

The 10men battled well 2nd half and to come from behind twice showed great fighting spirit, however, the team selection was just bizarre, the first half was painful to watch..
Why aren't we going for it at home? Poveda was our best player by some distance in January and then gets dropped?? Just bizarre. Grimshaw, Lyons, Poveda & Bowler need to be starting on Saturday! UTMP

I feel sorry for the father and son who sit behind me. They do nothing but moan and complain throughout the 90 minutes - players, manager, referee, lines man, the opp.... Imagine being that negative in your life. Myself and my sons will be moving seats next season as it does grate on you listening to it every home game.

People should be more positive and supportive - they might even enjoy it.

That's the funniest post I've read in quite a while.

Thorniley hasn't cost too many goals at all, in fact I'd go as far as to say he's our best defender.
He has very rarely let us down.

Football is a game of opinions and Im sure he will divide opinions...Simon Grayson, Neil Critchley Michael Appleton and now Mick McCarthy havent fancied him at all and there has to be a reason for that...his lack of pace cost us 6 goals at the end of last season and has cost us a few times this season and he also got a red card which cost us dear...he is just way way too slow...if you honestly think he hasnt cost us goals then I can only assume you havent been to the away games concerned or just didnt see them

Of course he's cost us goals, every player does.
I just think he offers more in defence than just clogging it upfield as far as you can (thats schoolboy football)
As for his red card, join the queue 😄 is that the 10th this season that Madine got?

9 I think which is disgusting...I actually think that for 90% of each game I agree with you but he is very unlucky and always seems to be punished by a goal when he makes a mistake...I put that down to his lack of pace and not being able to recover and make a saving tackle...I would say Ekpiteta makes more errors but he has remarkable powers of recovery and his pace gets him out of bother...I worry there is always a mistake in Thorniley each game and that will end up being another goal conceded.
 
Thought Nelson did well, and a shame about Goode.
Lyons, Bowler, and Rogers must start.
Carey and CJ just not good enough - fine as subs.

A clear 4 2 3 1 with Trybull and Dougall sitting and CJ and Yates giving some width but also coming in, while Carey was more central behind Madine.

If anything the 4 were a diamond.

Big Marc’s distribution is dreadful so he won’t improve that aspect !
