Blackpool v Liverpool U21 Official Matchnight Thread 10.10.23

Jake Beesley needs to watch videos of Killer Kouassi to see how it's done

Crash bang wallop
Beesley sadly didn't look anywhere near as potent. He had his chance, got taken out tbf but also doesn't show the finishing Kouassi does.

What formation are we playing, sorry not paying a tenner for this match. Given KK's form surely we need to be 4-4-2 KK and Rhodes need to be a front two.

Came out to stop Beesley outside the box and took him out, he was round the keeper and would have scored.

Saying that with our lot who knows.

They did have someone covering though, but you've seen many a red given. Definitely a goal scoring chance.
last man, there was one liverpool defender but with the keeper so far forward last man rules apply, should have been red

Entertaining game tbf, 7 goals, 5 for us. Could have been many more. Nothing more than we deserved really. We didn't have our shooting boots on for most of it.

We've put a patchwork squad out in a glorified kickabout, mostly for players to get a game under their belt or for fitness. We've stuck five in and we should have had 2/3 more and you're talking about 'levels'.

Seriously, get a grip.
When I said it, it was 2-2 and their kids were on top. It was a very poor spell.

The last 15 minutes were very good but their players were on their arses with cramp etc.

They were some positives for sure. Weir and Boothe played decent and Kouassi was good enough to take advantage of their tired legs. I actually thought Beesley did well despite his poor finishing.

Ok, let's look at it this way about Kouassi. He's 20, so technically could have played for thier under 21 side.

Let's imagine we came up against him tonight, with that impact. People would be raving about him.

He'd be getting tipped for big things and would no doubt cost a fortune to buy from Liverpool.

We've signed him on a 3+1.

Good times.

He's 20 years old... 6ft 2 and built like a Brick Shithouse..... And he danced through the Liverpool defence with the grace of ** gazelle....

I think the lad has Premier League written all over him...

missed the first twenty minutes didnt realise it was a 7pm kick off. decent game. some of our youngsters look really up for it, oakley booth has got a certain je ne ce qua, marriet was tidy when he came on, squires did ok.

kouassi hat-trick, he didnt just power the goals either, nicely taken. He's feeling his way into the team quite nicely has to start on saturday, i would have loved to see dembele playing behind the front two. hes just full of tricks, dear mr critchley please pretty please play kouassi and rhodes up front with young dembele sat behind them on saturday.
