Millwall v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 28.08.21

Oh please it was complete shit defending. If we don’t look at ourselves and just blame anything and everything this won’t improve.
More thinking about the Anderson non decision when clear through. As clear as day. Ref was a massive W anchor

Not followed the game but it sounds like one of those days where nothing goes right. Shit ref etc. We'll come back strong. We are better than some of these clubs. It'll turn.

We have been robbed. Gutted. Great effort from the team. Hate blaming the referee but he is in my opinion the difference today.

Absolute joke really, played well considering but not getting luck, refs but not making our own luck either and another terrible start to a season.

Some half chances only today but wayward shooting.

Completely unprepared for the season if were honest and so far to go but getting into a rut will make it hard to survive.

Still think we play really well when on it and can cause anyone issues, but this is not the start we needed.

When we eventually get the players in and players fit it may be too late.

Tried extremely hard but I'm not sure we've got the players or nous, on and off the field, for this league. 2 points from 15, it's going to be a long hard season fighting against the drop.

The ref decided that game, pure and simple. Pool were the better side all over the pitch with the exception of Wallace. Ballard was OK too.

A shocker.

There have to be 3 teams worse than us though. Did well today. Massive effort.

A lot of good performances there, good energy too. Very very frustrating though, and ultimately not good enough. I felt we deserved a point overall

Not the best if starts in the Championship! I fear we’ve missed out on players in key areas and we’re trying to wing it playing certain players out of their natural positions. It ain’t working and something needs to change ASAP!
not enjoyable getting tonked week in week out and the players must be feeling deflated!

The frustrating thing is we're not getting tonked.

Abysmal ref who will be out there doing it again soon enough as though nothing happened. Sadly on our side the subs didn't do justice to the players they replaced. We need reinforcements.

10 against 12 we were still the better team.

Definitely positives to take out of that and take note of…

Keshi should always play in the middle, James can play well at rightback and has a great throw, Lavery is simply class!

"getting tonked week in week out."

Yeah right. Nobber alert.

I actually thought we showed really guts and character today, some outstanding performances, Marv and Keogh were superb at the back and Garbutt and James did all they could. Lavery and Yates ran themselves into the ground and are going to score plenty of goals this season. Having Dougall & Stewart back together is massive for us, Bowler had a great second half but my MOM was Keshi, outstanding all over the pitch, great to see.

I will say that CJ looks like he will struggle to make the bench this season, he looks a shadow of the player we had last season.

We have the new box to box midfielder from Cardiff and he is a decent player so we just need a right back, Gabriel was excellent for Forest today, did nothing wrong and I still think we could snaffle him. If we could get the lad from Portugal that would be a sock, can't see it myself. Gabriel & Simms would make me very happy.

We are getting better every game, similar to last season. I think we will be fine once we have some new signings and players like Madine, Husband & Mitchell back fit.

Proud of the team today, I would love to punch that ref though, many times!!

And we took the lead for the 1st time since being back in the Championship! Onwards and upwards!

the bloke is a ** idiot. Cant get basic decisions right that happen right in front of him. You wouldnt let him ref your kids games ffs. **.

Just watched the goals back there.
Never ever a sending off.

Brilliant run and pass from Bowler for our goal, sheer determination from Lavery, good goal.

Their free kick was a pearler, power and accuracy into the top corner. I can't remember the foul that led up to it, avoidable??

Their winner very very disappointing. Winger not closed down, and they've got 4 in a group, all unmarked, around the penalty spot for a simple (well executed) finish.

gutted, we deserved at least a point

And Millwall is one 'em, but with the help of the ref, they won. How many other twelve-man teams are we going to be up against?

Can only assume they were playing offside. Hence the cluster of four.
