Reading v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 20.11.21

Reading can't be that lucky for the next 45 minutes - they've had the run of the ball, mostly and the 2 goals we've conceded were totally our own fault. Reading created little and do not look 2 goals better at all.
A team on a hell of a run.
What's the saying? You make your own luck!
Or in their case wait for a mistake from Blackpool

In many ways one of our best halves, frightenly fast but let down by finishing. change the goalie on Saturday if he lets any more in. Could be too small. He ho its the Pool!!! havent won at Reading since 1980

Don;t agree. We really don't need to go long to Madine as we are not being put under any concerted pressure. Midfield getting plenty of time on the ball and we are running at their defence and opening them up. We just need to take two of the many chances we've created. Carey grown into the game really well.
I'm with 20's.

We just need to finish off the opportunities we have been carving.

It’s been awful so far, but I don’t think it’s bad enough to want TJJ on.🤣
It's been brilliant at opening them up up until a final ball, pass, bit if skill or shot.

Our passing has looked better than Reading.

Just so poor at the back to let those goals in.

Their first goal, debatable ‘foul’, ref waves play on, Reading player then stops running, scratches his arse and the ref blows for a free kick. You couldn’t make it up. Second goal, keystone cops, crap defending. Marv, not having a great game. Reading fans believing they’re in dreamland. No way is this a 0-2 game, despite Jules on Sky Sports, inferring Reading are well on top. 😠

Well that was infuriating.
I like the formation, we have controlled the game for large parts and created enough goal scoring chances. For me, Carey has looked very good and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets us back in it second half.
But, finishing appalling. Anderson, Yates and Mitchell being the main culprits. I lost count of the number of times the move broke down when Anderson got the ball. He is having a mare and I'd haul him off at half time. Our decision making in the final third has been woeful. Defending also awful for both goals.
It is far from a lost cause though. Let's get the next goal and who knows what may happen....

Crap that. Reading will not score any easier goals this season. We are hopeless when we get in attacking positions. Apart from the two gimmes we've not had too much to do defensively. Better quality up front and we'd be back in this.
Sort of with you but yes, we need quicker thinking up front. It's not league one.

Toothless up front and hard to see a way back. I think we are missing Bowler and if a p*ss wet Wednesday in Reading isn’t crying out for Madine I don’t know what is….

Can't keep saying we're missing x, there's enough of our sqaud available that we should be able to take some chances and the thing that's cost us is the defence with no-one missing.
Keep saying? Lavery and Maxwell got injured 2 games ago.

If ever there was a time to bring out the old cliche it is now. But next goal is crucial. They get it we are done. We get it we could easily draw or sneak a win.

Unforgivable - bit of an over-reaction. It’s been a long time since I recall any Pool player putting in a decent cross.
When I was working if I did my job as badly for as long I would have been fired and deservedly so. When was the last time he or anyone else put in a decent cross?

We always seem to get punished for our mistakes, we don't get dubious penalties and we don't take our chances. Not a recipe for success. UTMP

While they are scoring we will just concentrate on looking god then.
