If some club I was a member of hosted an event with someone like corbyn or Blair or whoever why should anyone care? The pathetic woke mob also shut down Oswald Mosley at events in the 39s, cancel culture has a long history. Those lefty do gooders have a lot to answer for.
It was club members at grasshoppers who got the event cancelled, fair play the bloke is contemptible. If my golf club had a night with Farage planned I'd tell them to shove my membership where the sun doesn't shine.
So on that basis, you'd be OK with an Evening with Abu Hamza, for example?Who's event was raising money for local hospice....
Seems some on the 'far left'? think its their views or nothing and will shut down someone they don't like, even if money to a good cause is involved.
Perhaps Farage can donate his 'expenses' and they'll be back level again.Us two are non political.
There's only one loser and that's St Catherines hospice, who were set to receive a 5 figure sum - they need every penny they can raise.
It's sad that bully wokes (and remoaners) have won and it's disgusting really
Bit like the leader of the Taliban getting a platform on Twatter but Trumpy getting kicked off ? yep, cancel culture is pathetic .So on that basis, you'd be OK with an Evening with Abu Hamza, for example?
If not, it's woke, cancel culture.
The thing about private clubs is that if the majority of the members don't want someone in, then that's fair enough. It would seem that's the case here. Slightly different to a social media platform, and Trump was kicked off for repeatedly breaking the terms and conditions. Shouldn't everyone abide by those?Bit like the leader of the Taliban getting a platform on Twatter but Trumpy getting kicked off ? yep, cancel culture is pathetic .
Because he's a lying fraud? Members of a club are entitled to say someone isn't welcome and I respect anyone who calls Farage out, he has caused so much harm to this nation, purely for self promotion and wealth. As for your example of Blair and Corbyn that's up to members of individual clubs to object, I certainly wouldn't be on here making as issue of it.If some club I was a member of hosted an event with someone like corbyn or Blair or whoever why should anyone care?
If there's interest from people let them go, the money is for a good cause.
There was clearly a lot of interest from people to attend.
But the no doubt fake outrage from some and the threat of not going back forced them to change course on an idea they clearly agreed with beforehand.
Poor form, why be so bitter over someone?
Ah yes that bastion of the far left, rugby union club members .
Seems some on the 'far left'? think its their views or nothing and will shut down someone they don't like, even if money to a good cause is involved.
So if you actually watch the video, Preston Grasshoppers weren't the promoters of the event at all. Someone else booked the venue for a private meeting and then advertised it as a meeting with Nigel Farage. The members objected and the booking was withdrawn.Who's event was raising money for local hospice....

Nigel Farage is obviously a very unpopular person with yourself and millions of others but using Abu Hamza as a example is a bit daft.So on that basis, you'd be OK with an Evening with Abu Hamza, for example?
If not, it's woke, cancel culture.
So i assume your happy giving a murderous cult a platform on the world wide stage ? if so you get what you deserve. The thing about private clubs is that if the majority of the members don't want someone in, then that's fair enough. It would seem that's the case here. Slightly different to a social media platform, and Trump was kicked off for repeatedly breaking the terms and conditions. Shouldn't everyone abide by those?
So much anger and bitternessThe pathetic woke mob also shut down Oswald Mosley at events in the 30s, cancel culture has a long history. Those lefty do gooders have a lot to answer for.
It was club members at grasshoppers who got the event cancelled, fair play the bloke is contemptible. If my golf club had a night with Farage planned I'd tell them to shove my membership where the sun doesn't shine.
Strange comment that's adds nothing to the issue. Is that your version of cancel culture by calling someone. I don't like Farage one bit, how does that fall under angry and bitter? So much anger and bitterness
I’m glad I don’t live in your world
It must be a dark place to be at times
You do live in his world. The world that is safer because of the actions in stopping Mosley, and ultimately Hitler in the 30s and 40s.So much anger and bitterness
I’m glad I don’t live in your world
It must be a dark place to be at times
Jimmy Saville did wonders for charity, perhaps people should have spoken out against saintly Jim rather than be frightened due to his charity work.As said above already only one loser here St Catherine’s hospice.
Sometimes people need to think for once and then back off from mad world driven agendas and let great causes like this take priority.
While the Taliban is fine?Nigel Farage is obviously a very unpopular person with yourself and millions of others but using Abu Hamza as a example is a bit daft.
I agree. Let’s have a debate about Churchill and his racist tendencies. I’m sure that’ll be welcome and provoke some interesting responses.Seems the poor little wokey morons only like it their way or not at all. They are extremely dim witted as different views and debate do drive discussion and without it our societies will become humanly stagnant.
Anywho back to burning tyres, dispersing my aerosol collection into the atmosphere and eating lots of meat. Have a nice life wokies!
They did once he was sussed out just a shame it was after he had kicked the bucket.Jimmy Saville did wonders for charity, perhaps people should have spoken out against saintly Jim rather than be frightened due to his charity work.
That may be true, however some people would of wanted to go and a very good charity would of benefitted in the process. So wokery & cancel culture now costing charity. Nice.I didn't realise you had to be 'woke' to think that Nigel Farage is a complete fuck wit and 'Right Wing' puppet....
Anyway...none of you lot would have turned up to hear him speak, so why get your colostomy bags in a twist.
Abu hamza... really... is that the comparison you want to use. Thats an awful effort. So on that basis, you'd be OK with an Evening with Abu Hamza, for example?
If not, it's woke, cancel culture.
Another thing Farage and Tommy Robinson have in common.Bollox....Charity
Even you know you're clutching at straws with that one...
Maybe Nigel could put his hand in his pocket and pull out a few quid of that £1.5m he's given every year by 'right wing' sponsors in the UK & US...
This isn't about freedom of speech.....Members of Preston Grasshoppers didn't want to be associated with a political agitator that could bring trouble....simple
I bet any money, he could get another venue in Preston without this 'look what the woke, cancel culture are doing to me.....a decent 'BRITISH' gent who just wants to raise money for charity'....bollox. load of crap and you know it....Nigel is just trying to score points and get the Gammons riled up again.....
Yay! Woke now has it's very own noun. That may be true, however some people would of wanted to go and a very good charity would of benefitted in the process. So wokery & cancel culture now costing charity. Nice.
Perhaps Farage can donate his 'expenses' and they'll be back level again
As a retired politician, maybe he claims expenses, maybe he doesn't, maybe they're reasonable, maybe they're not, but the fact of the matter is, St Catherines were due to make significant much needed money out of this non political venture and that has now been denied them. Very sad.Perhaps Farage can donate his 'expenses' and they'll be back level again.
I’m not sure about the line and sinker, Wiz, but you certainly got them on the hookSo on that basis, you'd be OK with an Evening with Abu Hamza, for example?
If not, it's woke, cancel culture.
They could raise money in another way. I t would be sad if they were associated with Farage. As a retired politician, maybe he claims expenses, maybe he doesn't, maybe they're reasonable, maybe they're not, but the fact of the matter is, St Catherines were due to make significant much needed money out of this non political venture and that has now been denied them. Mrs Thatcher thought supporters of the IRA should be denied “the oxygen of publicity”.
Looks as if the members of this rugby club think the same.
... and I would assume all those supporting the Grasshoppers members decision are equally opposed to a charity event involving Mr Corbyn.Mrs Thatcher thought supporters of the IRA should be denied “the oxygen of publicity”.
Looks as if the members of this rugby club think the same.
So by your measure any politician is a lying fraud, remainers said there would be world war 3, instant recession, jobs lost etc. It didn't happen. The lying frauds, should never be able to host an event for charity?Because he's a lying fraud? Members of a club are entitled to say someone isn't welcome and I respect anyone who calls Farage out, he has caused so much harm to this nation, purely for self promotion and wealth. As for your example of Blair and Corbyn that's up to members of individual clubs to object, I certainly wouldn't be on here making as issue of it.
Nut jobs? Why do some with opposing view feel the need to call people that? What for posting a thread of what happened for discussion?Hilarious thread to start the day with.
RWNJs working themselves up into a right old froth.
“Dark place”
Surely Farage wouldn't agree with anything being 'darker'?Hilarious thread to start the day with.
RWNJs working themselves up into a right old froth.
“Dark place”
Another pathetic comparison, he was an absolute sicko.Jimmy Saville did wonders for charity, perhaps people should have spoken out against saintly Jim rather than be frightened due to his charity work.
Gave in, or listened to the majority of their members? So by your measure any politician is a lying fraud, remainers said there would be world war 3, instant recession, jobs lost etc. It didn't happen. The lying frauds, should never be able to host an event for charity?
The club gave in to, as usual, moaning and cancelling people opposing it and the usual social media mob.
I think to be classed as a 'successful' politician you probably need to win an election at some point.Another pathetic comparison, he was an absolute sicko.
The fact some of you try and use that type of comparison, with a successful but controversial politician says a lot.
So an event for the hospice is what then?Bollox....Charity
Even you know you're clutching at straws with that one...
Maybe Nigel could put his hand in his pocket and pull out a few quid of that £1.5m he's given every year by 'right wing' sponsors in the UK & US...

So whats Nigel done wrong here then?Another thing Farage and Tommy Robinson have in common.
Always the victim.
Lets not pretend it was some fishing post it was a poorly judged comparison.I’m not sure about the line and sinker, Wiz, but you certainly got them on the hook
