Hartlepool v Blackpool Official FA Cup Matchday Thread 08.01.22

Why didn't the defender just pass it then to the other defender rather than boot it out.

The problem with Mitchell and Hamilton is that they don't have any quality or temperament. They look afraid of it. They just do the easiest possible thing and they don't do that very well. Not Championship quality I'm afraid and should be loaned out or sold for their own good. Very bad day for us.

Aside from us being on the wrong end of it, it's exactly what football should all be about. Beats the repetitive, predictable 4-0 wins you see all the time in the Prem.

Ah well, make that 51 years of totally shite FA cup games, wh have to have the worst record in the leagues. That was embarrassing and Critch needs to hold his hands up.

We need about 5 signings as well now this window just so we can put a team out.

Just embarrassing we were completely clueless this afternoon.

Feel really sorry for those that went to watch utter dross.

As poor as a performance I’ve seen in years.

Well done Hartlepool.
We were utterly useless in front of goal. Wasteful on a schoolboy error level. Paid for it with the 2nd half capitulation.

Midfield non existent as well. If we don’t sign those 2 creative midfielders we are after, it might be a wipeout for the rest of the season based on that shïtshow

Utter utter dog shit, the second they went 2-1 up you knew we had lost. Too often now we miss easy chances and go on to pay the price. I really hope the decision to play a full strength side doesn’t come back to hurt our championship place.

An absolute disgrace of a 2nd half, I'm not one to get all doom and gloom after a defeat but fuck me that was absolutely woeful. Our first string looked absolutely clueless against a newly promoted League Two side.

Our finishing and decision making need to drastically improve, that game should have been put to bed in the first half - even against a League Two side it comes back to bite us. ** joke.

I'm not taking the "concentrate on the league" consolation either, we haven't just lost to a team at or above our level. When playing a full strength side against a team two divisions below you it is nothing short of embarrassing.

When we look dreadful in Championship games, there's the excuse that the opponents are an established 2nd tier team, with better players. What's the excuse today?

I think Critchley is very lucky in the fact that Simon Sadler brought him in, we love Sadler.
Can you imagine if Oyston had brought Critchley in and we had been on the current run of results? People would be screaming for his head.
That's bollocks, compare with Grayson who was struggling in the Championship and we were all gutted when he left.

Shite, but I suppose staying up is the main job. Hopefully one year we will have at least a small FA Cup run before I pop me cloggs ☹️.

Remember the uproar at the Hartlepool fans saying it was a winnable game? What a shambles. And two more injuries to key players!
