Is he the problem, is he fit for purpose?

To be honest never really liked him, we don't like agents at Blackpool anyway (I know he's not one these days)

But something doesn't seem right

Anyway his ears are too far apart and them things he looks out of are too close

Send the fcuker back to Barnsley or Israel or Leeds or whatever other fuck ups he's been in charge of

The Blackpool way what the fuck was that all about?

I bet koko is drowing in his own piss right now laughing at us

Joffrey is drowning in his own piss but only because the septic tank his shed sits above has backed up.

It all comes back to little old Blackpool mentality...time to get someone in who dares to dream in the way Belokon and Holloway did (despite their faults)...there are plenty of people out there who could present Blackpool as an attractive club...not sure Mansford and co are doing that

I've defended the board a fair bit this summer, but I feel like for the first time I'm seriously questioning what's going on. We're becoming a laughing stock and the whole window is turning into a serious mess.

Let's not kid ourselves, things have felt a little toxic for a while, or at least its been simmering. The news today that he was signing gave everyone a lift, but now it's off I think that toxicity will increase more so than what it was before all this.

I think the clubs have been played by his agent who used us as a pawn to get a better deal.

The club should be doing better to sniff out dodgy agents.

I think we need a local in the role, an actual Blackpool fan, someone who can really sell the place, not much point having Sadler as the local community spirited owner when the CEO is an ex agent from Yorkshire. Sit down with any of us lot and we could convince anyone this was the greatest club on the planet, not sure we're getting that from Mansford.

He's had a shocking summer right from Critchley leaving.

Players at league one clubs getting a third fewer fans through the gate should not be choosing to stay there over coming to a championship club, ever. The board really need to be asked some tough questions about this summer's transfer business. I fail to see how we can afford a seven figure transfer fee, but can't afford competitive wages - it makes absolutely no sense.

Signed Josh Bowler from Premiership Club Everton last close season.

Some of the above posters really do need to “give their thick heads a good shake”🙄🙄
This. Appleton is the only difference this summer. I don’t like him, its the wrong appointment, I have to say it.

If I had a chance to sit for an hour with players I could convince them to sign for Blackpool over league one sides.

But he can’t. And it’s a one off.

He has no passion for Blackpool (has he’s shown before) plus preston fan and guess what? PLAYERS ARE SEING THROUGH IT

Give yourself a shake - Simms has opted to play in front of 40k every other week - we’d matched the agreed terms. Brannigan is happy to play at a lower level for more money Rosenior is an unproven manager who was hanging on for the scouse granny shagger to feck off and jump in his place.

Nice, mature post from you as usual.

Making personal comments about his appearance cause we didn’t sign the player you wanted.

Grow up

If the lad doesn’t want to move up a league what’s that got to do with Ben Mansford

If he’d have signed for the nobbers or reading etc one might question BM’s skills but the fact is that this lad had other championship suitors and he’s chosen to stay in league 1

Nothing to do with BM on this one

What is me or the club

Explain?
This is the first time under the new ownership where I’ve felt like they’ve set themselves up for failure.

We’ve failed with bids to get him in before and then when we decide to trigger his release clause, the wages etc should be a formality.

Mansford has been in football long enough to know whether he’s being taken for a ride and it looks like the second time it’s happened from Oxford employees.

No point anyone getting arsed about it, we went for him, put the money down, he decided to stay! We shouldn’t want a player who lacks ambition, found his level in league 1, onto the next…
Lack ambition ??????

He probably thinks we are tin pot will go down as we are shit at agreeing terms and than Oxford have put money down and may replace us next season

If I was him that's what I would think

Who said he was signing

So you agree with me, cool

Yeah on a one year plus one deal

Doesn't look like a great deal now

More a dilemma

They shouldn’t need convincing if they have any ambition about them

Maybe they want to stay in the league they are in

I don’t think you made yourself very clear, do you like Mansford or not.🤣🤣

Appleton seems to be getting a free pass on this I see. His job is as much to convince the player as Mansford .

It’s not rocket science fellas, we trigger the clause, player comes thinking he’s going to triple his wage, then gets a reality check that he’s probably the top earner at is his club and won’t actually get a huge upturn in wages.
would cost a lot to relocate, then club he’s at doubles his wage, Oxford must be shitting their pants as to what they are paying him now.
If they are paying him more than what we offered, then that just sums up football finance.
If that’s the case I’m glad we didn’t sign him.
Also, sort of explains why he still plays for Oxford!!!!!

Oxford certainly won’t be getting promoted.

Can’t blame the board for this one, they were slapping 1.3 mil down and undoubtedly giving him a pay rise, he obviously doesn’t fancy the relocation or step up in class, he will look back in years and regret it.

Onto the next

It does have a whiff of Koko dealings about it - failing to get this over the line after triggering the release clause smacks of Mansford not having a great poker face at all and trying to penny pinch. Not sure what he’s been doing this summer - whatever it is, it’s not been great.

Some of the adjectives used here to describe what is run of the mill stuff in football is hilarious....

Embarrassing you say - go on then;

What, embarrassed as in you'll blush if someone says the word Brannigan
Embarrassed at being knocked back twice.
Grow a pair man
The town is no big attraction - marginally more attractive than the North East perhaps,
But theres more to football and players moving clubs than money.
