Yay!!
That’s a mighty impressive win in the circumstances

We could and should have won the series, it took the first two tests for us to realise that.Brilliant serirs we coukd have w9n but daft stuff got in the way. Like no Woakes and Wood first two tests. Rain. Wicket keeping.
A declaration! Come on who argued with me?!
He still thinks Australia can win this gameyep truly fantastic series. Hope that McGrath can show a bit of humility in his column after his prediction of a Aussie whitewash.
I wouldn't hold your breathyep truly fantastic series. Hope that McGrath can show a bit of humility in his column after his prediction of a Aussie whitewash.
There's plenty of quality on offer in their attack. I'm surprised Boland didn't play at least one more game. Lyon getting injured was a big moment but we also couldn't play Wood all 5 games and never have Jofra. Or Pope...Some player Mitchell Starc is by the way.
Yep, agree and he's at an age where the mentality won't come into it. Still got 4/5 years left yet! There's plenty of quality on offer in their attack. By the way Kurt, I think it's pretty ironic that in this set up, your mate hasn't had a chance. He's the best domestic white ball batsman by miles and would be a good fit as a Bazball number 3 I reckon.
I reckon he'd play so much better with the freedom to bat. He's better than Crawley, Duckett and Pope.Yep, agree and he's at an age where the mentality won't come into it. Still got 4/5 years left yet!
And some people prefer T20
Woakes is more likely to 'replace' Jimmy in bowling terms, but he's a well established member of the England squad and would get loads of game time in home series where he's always been a quality bowler. That would be the same if the others were fit and still playing.Funny how Stoksie said he was bowling off spin now. I know he's been bowling it in the nets. If he can re-invent himself as an off spinner that would be pretty exciting.
Just a brilliant series, 2 very evenly matched teams, Woakes the Broad replacement, who will replace Jimmy?
How else could we get to enjoy the HundredDecent series for sure but can’t help but feel it’s been a rushed spectacle this time, five tests in six weeks, a bit bizarre really.

And almost certainly in his last test, given he only played in this series as a favour to Stokes.Shout out to Moen Ali too. Much maligned (by some on here) but a fabulous world class cricketer.
Wow Jimmy touting himself as an interviewer. Only watched 30sec mind.
Watch it all mate - straight from the heart.Wow Jimmy touting himself as an interviewer. Only watched 30sec mind.
The hundred’s bloody awful. Chalk and cheese.Hits a 6 for his last ball as a batsman and takes a wicket as his last ball as a bowler. That's some nice scriptwriting.
Cracking series between 2 different but evenly matched sides.
Sets up everyone for the Hundred...
They're now saying that the Aussies are playing traditional test cricket and will have to adapt. The biter bit.Compare some of the posts on page 1 to those on page 8 !
I love cricket and to think I have seen some epic test series in this country v Australia has been a real priviledge - We've seen more toptastic series then there's been in 100 years previous and long may it continue
We've beaten Australia at their own game of bully boy, up the tempo cricket - they know this, and some may admit it - to be a class act though we need to do it away - let's face it Australia were on the whole boring and defensive the more so it went on.
Hope everyone enjoyed - breath taking sport
Agreed. No interest and no affinity to any of the teams. The hundred’s bloody awful. Chalk and cheese.
