On his pay up Twitter account, which I don't subscribe to , his headline is - Blackpool to spark Yates auction . Presumably he means in the January window . Anyone have access to the details on this ? Sometimes he's in the know , othertimes it's just a possibility thing with him .
 
Sounds like the similar Rangers rumours from a few weeks ago being recycled?

What worries me is the "Blackpool to spark Yates auction", as if we're actively looking to sell.
I really hope this isn't the case. We've already sold our most creative player and failed to replace him.

If we sell Jerry, we're unlikely to be able to afford someone like him. Even if we can afford the fee, we'll not be able to compete with personal terms. So the transfer fee could be sat with the Critch compo and the fee for Josh, with us not being able to get our targets again. Hope we've learned from the shite summer transfer window.
 
NO……the guy just wants a bunch of mugs to sign up for his made up stories.

Just give it a few hours and no doubt someone will put 2 and 2 together and come up with 7 and start kicking off that the board are selling our best players.

Please….this guy just makes rubbish up…and people fall for it.

The Knobbers wanted £10m for Riis…..and the duffers scored 2 or 3 goals….that would make Jerry worth £25m…..We could always sell him and buy PNE…..we would have £24m left!!!
 
We all know he’s worth more, but let’s be honest, the club would bite anyones hand off if they got an offer around 5-7mil

I think it would be madness to sell him in January unless it’s done early in the window & for a ridiculous sum. Also we would need a replacement lined up, as for salaries, what would stop us paying a signing on fee to sort of navigate round any salary cap. That said we don’t have the clock ticking as was the case with Bowler, well it’s got a lot more ticks left. We don’t need to do anything really apart from giving Jerry the service to add to his goals tally & hopefully help us remain in the championship. Probably paper talk, which always happens. At the end of this season if we stay up we could also review his contract in a similar manner to what I suggested above if that’s feasible.

He’s under contract for another 3 yrs or so. Rangers can’t afford him.
If he is sold in January then it tells you all you need to know about the owners ambition.

I doubt he will be sold in January as I implied. Just the usual muck raking by so called journo’s.

PNE where offered £7m rising to £10m with the add ons for Riis but Ryan Lowe insisted he wasn't sold so the board respected that decision.
 
As others have said Nixon’s been proved to just talk up/ make up sensationalised bollocks to get people to sign up to his paid ITK stuff. Hilarious really.

All vague rumours filled with multiple scenarios to cover a lot of bases, and a lot of the time aren’t original stories ala Jerry to Rangers.

If Jerry goes this summer it would have to be a ridiculous bid, something north of £10M. The clubs that can afford that aren’t buying Jerry with it as much as I love him.
 
I would imagine that Nixon gets his information from agents, some of which are just creating interest in their players. However, he does get some inside information occasionally and he has in the past been right. I would think that Appleton would be interested in selling Yates if he
could get the money to spend and bring in a couple of players, the current strikers at the club don't really suit a 4-3-3 system.

There’s a fairly high chance Appleton doesn’t make it to Jan 1st.

Jerry will obviously sold at some point, I just can’t see it being January. He’s one of the only saleable assets currently in the squad, this also makes him one of the only constants we have.

Just can’t see it personally, and I used to think Nixon was bang in the money. Last summer however, jeeze it got embarrassing the stuff he was spouting.

Agree, so far with us alone he’s managed to name us the Manager we didn’t get and talk utter tripe about Josh Bowler.

The best one was last week… someone tweeted him asking him if Appleton’s job was in doubt he replied something like “tough one, not popular with fans and results aren’t great”…

Incredible insight 😂 and people want to pay him for that…

He had his RWB signed but he failed his medical and as for a striker, there's hardly a catalogue full of them for sale, maybe Yates could sign instead.

Jerry is my favourite Blackpool player of the Sadler era.

Absolutely no way is he worth ‘north of £10m’.

I meant to put Jan instead of summer in my post.

But my point was that if he’s sold this Jan, clearly he’s not worth 10M but he’s so critical to the club at this point then a ‘ridiculous’ offer would be needed to get him away from us.

Different situation to Josh because of his contract length, anyone who wants him has to meet our valuation.

You’d think that valuation would be high as the board would have to bear in mind the reaction of selling your top scorer and fans favourite. I really hope this plays a part in their decisions, confidence is already low and they risk completely losing the fanbase.
 
Rangers are also being linked with McBurnie from Sheff Utd, he's out of contract in the summer and apparently a massive Rangers fan. Would they want/be able to afford both?

I see your point, but I can’t see the club turning down an offer of around 5 million to be honest.
 
We are going to get this sort of garbage from journos during the would cup when other than the national team nowt to write about

£5M is a joke of a price for Jerry (maybe 15 years ago!!)…

With add ons you’d expect double that for one of the Championship’s leading goal scorers (achieved at a bottom half club).. Any less than that would be criminal 👎
