Alan Nixon on Jerry Yates

Easy to put an end to this böllocks. Put out a statement saying £10m+ or get lost. I’m sure these type of rumours will persist as little Blackpool always sell for cut-price bargain amount.
In the meantime, no point fretting about made-up nonsense.

They arent mutually exclusive...it can be both
Agree but it does beg the question why we fail to get deals done. If Appleton had these players where the deals have fallen thru I think it reasonable to think we'd be in a stronger position. So yep, I'm happy to think it's more the board than the manager.

Appleton has adequate strength in his his squad and we should really be better off than what we currently are , having said that the board need to have a good look at themselves, fannying around in the transfer market has cost the club dearly. If Jerry is genuinely up for sale then that's a nail in the coffin and our season over .

He doesn't have adequate strength though does he? Madine having to start every game and play for 90 minutes in some. A shed load of defensive midfield players signed who are crocks and pretty much only three centre halves of which the on loan Williams has looked poor. Far from adequate strength.

He has signed some of those to be fair, madine has been left up front through choice , Lavery, CJ and Theo have watched as many games as me !!
Maybe Appleton will walk again if the board is a big of a shambles as his first stint.

We’ve signed a load of filler and crocks. The type of thing Oyston would have done. Sign 3 players for 1 position because they wouldn’t spend the requisite amount to bring in the main target. In the end, spend more. Bonkers.

In The Toss of Goss's column, he asks the question ' which c/ship manager has cut off contact with the Clubs money man feeling badly let down in the last window' going on to say that the next contact might be a sacking.

Can't be many contenders even if you assume it's right. Appleton, Lowe???

😂

£5M is a joke of a price for Jerry (maybe 15 years ago!!)…

With add ons you’d expect double that for one of the Championship’s leading goal scorers (achieved at a bottom half club).. Any less than that would be criminal 👎
I agree but with the little old Blackpool attitude around the club it is inevitable we wont get the same rates as other clubs...Bowler's fee was bad enough but understandable given the length of contract time left...Jerry is a different matter and we should be looking at 7 figures but we wont be as we are little old Blackpool who cannot compete with the big boys...its high time we ditched that ethos and dared to dream and bigged ourselves up instead of down...that is another reason why I want to see the back of Appleton and some if not all of the recruitment staff

On his pay up Twitter account, which I don't subscribe to , his headline is - Blackpool to spark Yates auction . Presumably he means in the January window . Anyone have access to the details on this ? Sometimes he's in the know , othertimes it's just a possibility thing with him .
Surely no one can stand by the board with yet another shocking decision? We’re in a relegation battle and selling our top goal scorer.

To me it shows no ambition or direction. It’s all starting to seem very, very Oystonesque - as much as I hate to say it.

If there's any credibility in this story then it strengthens my view that it's the board not the manager.
But then I have to ask why/how does Nixon have inside information to intentions or decisions that Sadler, Mansford and the recruitment bloke make.

My guess would be Yates, Thorniley and maybe Lavery or Gabriel with perhaps one or 2 others plus the weak loan players going back.

Get decent money for Yates in January or August next year then maybe able to fund a reasonable season in League 1, get poor money than it's anybody's guess

Agents usually. Won't nec be JY's but a random one who has spoken to X at the Club and then has spoken to TToG. If it was a direct source he wouldn't print it as his source would likely become obvious and no doubt unemployed.

I mentioned about the C/ship manager and a no talk with the owner. Coincidence that both stories appear on the same page and both negative? One chat, 2 stories.

I hate to say it but I was right about the Oysters way way back, one of the first few and I have a horrible feeling I am going to be right about the present owner. I hope I am wrong, but time will tell.

Has this happened?
Are you a fan?
Or just a wind up merchant?
In Paulco speak

I attended every game, home and away bar 3 last season. I’ve been to every game home and away this season, barring Millwall and QPR.

If you’re happy with us selling our top goalscorer while in a relegation battle then you’re also part of the issue we have on our hands at the moment.

This is Bollux on a Bollux twitter account.
Even if it were to happen which I very much doubt, depends on fee paid and replacement whether it is a good move.

Why would anyone take the club on to be another version of Oyston?
Doesn't make any business or football sense to sell Yates in January so my guess is its bullshit.
However he could go in the summer but it would be an entirely different scenario.

We’re fast becoming a selling club under this new regime. 🙄🤷‍♂️
That's the model, but of course we have to re invest it, using the money we have from sales to fund players we couldn't previously have afforded, go again and so on until we have a team of players we couldn't have previously afforded.

A good model but requires us to secure our targets, or some....

Yes read that as well. Could be Appleton but doubt it as personally think he has been backed.

If Nixon posts this sort of stuff about nearly every club then logic tells you he is playing a numbers game to get punters.
There is no way he has genuine contacts that know the inner workings of dozens of football clubs.
I've never looked at his site/shite, does he focus on a handful of teams or is it across the board?

No, he's an ambulance chaser.
He will have had a conversation with someone (not at BR ) and they'll have said 2. Then he's had another conversation and they said 3. For the story and the fact it can't be refuted easily, 2+3 now becomes 4. The writer knows that, but JY is up there with the top scorers so is of interest.

I wouldn't worry about the sale of JY.

But he hasn't been sold has he? It's only bullshitter Nixon spouting his crap and people are falling for it.

If Jerry goes for anything short of silly money then my suspicions are true in that:

Simon Sadler seems to be very Oystonesque when it comes to the transfer policy at the club.

We truly have some whopper fans.

A truly embarrassing statement, after nearly half a century of utterly shocking owner ship we get a guy that pumps millions of pounds in to merely be the ‘custodian’ of the club, dragging the club kicking and screaming into the 21st century and this is the kind of shite people level at him.

A truly embarrassing set of fans at times.

Only reason to sell in Jan for 2-3 million would be if the club has no faith that he'll carry on scoring and want to take advantage of the bump in value from his early form.

Would be an acceptance of league one really, thankfully the twitter guy has about a 1 in 10 success rate with his "rumours".

You may as well believe the stories in Dear Deirdre as Alan Nixon. If you pay for his Patreon you’ll also see a pair of tits.

Wouldn't attribute that comment to a set of fans, it was one stupid comment from one fan.

Unfortunately I don’t think that’s true anymore.

We’ve had a shite 6 months, and although small we have a worrying number of fans that think Sadler’s on par with the Oystons or is screwing the club somehow. I saw one before put something like, ‘I knew the Oystons we’re bad from the start, I was right about them and I’ll be right about Sadler’. 😳. Just what the fuck.

Whilst I don’t think it’ll remotely move the needle regarding Sadler or the upstairs management, we’re reliably informed they read this board as it represents a decent chunk of the fan base. They must just think why do we bother doing all that we do for the club when there’s people that spout this sort of shite.

I honestly feel it’s important to call them out as being completely wrong.

People do know that it is a gossip column? Not gospel.

Bit different.

I think the most ridiculous, baseless and stupid opinions appear to be loud and numerous but the majority are quietly shaking their heads in bewilderment.

Since Nixon has started selling his rumours he has gone to pot.

Crazy to think he was more reliable when doing it for free, probably because he was only tweeting things with substance - now he charges however much per rumour so he puts out any old shite he hears.
