We went on a mental run last season , got a gut feeling we’re going to do the same this season , 3 games unbeaten beat Bournemouth Saturday and we’d more up there obviously got Coventry first. Just wondered if any else thinks we’ve a chance utmp

There’s always a chance🤞

6 or min 4 points from these two games and we could start dreaming. Think we will have a stronger run in so expect to pick up more points

Lack of recruitment in the central midfield area will prevent it happening, if we'd signed a decent creative midfielder it wouldn't be out the realms of possibility. Ultimately I think from now till the end of the season we'll drop too many points, be it a loss that should have been a draw or a draw that could have been a win through a lack of goals/creativity. Don't get me wrong, we're looking good at the minute but I can't see us maintaining this sort of form week in, week out.

At the end of the day it's a massive achievement in your first season up to be doing what we're doing, you only have to look at the other promoted sides this season and past promoted sides in comparison. I feel talk of the play offs and promotion diminishes what we're achieving at the minute, it's that raising of expectations and inevitable disappointment at something that would be nothing short of miraculous if it actually happened.

I'm just gonna enjoy our comfortable ride from here on out, next year with a decent summer of recruitment we can really push on.

No, not quite, there isn't lot between us and a few of the clubs above us but we aren't quite top 6 yet. The next couple of games may change my mind though, as we know all to well, any club that hits form now can go all the way..

Yeah it’s possible. We have a few players who we can’t afford to get injured for me. Maybe there will be a few more goals in this new lineup, but odds are on mid table.

How many teams promoted to the championship have reached the top six in their first season back? It can't be that many. I think PNE did it under Moyes, and Man City from memory. Anyone think of any more? Not that it has any bearing on our chances, just wondering really.

The 250-1 at Skybet for promotion is just too big, some of the other companys are as low as 50-1. Worth a squid of anyones money. Not going to miss the pound but would pay for a decent celebration.

The way the table shapes up at the moment the 6th spot is possibly undercooked on 45 pts given the games in hand for Middlesbrough and Sheff Utd which may raise their own totals and possibly shunt other sides down.

On current trend we are going to need in the region of 73 or 76 pts to get in the play off spots which leaves us 33 or 36 pts from a possible 51pts from the remaining 17 games

It's a tough ask but 4 points as a baseline this week would aid matters greatly as would favourable outcomes in Sheff Utd v WBA and QPR v Middlesbrough plus our own encounter at Coventry to negate their current advantage.

The beauty of this division of course is that no result surprises so in a nutshell anything is possible and games in hand don't always convert into points.

Worst case scenario we are staring at sky.Enjoy

Norwich were promoted from L1 in 2008(?) and went straight through to the Prem (with Wes Holohan).

I havnt seen any team, apart from Huddersfield and Coventry games were I thought we were well below Championship level.

So these next two are going to be the litmus test for us, 4-6 points and I reckon we have chance, even 2 points maybe.

Our strength is that we have a great team spirit with no premadonners and an amazing manager!

UTMP!

According to Radio Blackburn The Nobbers can go on a play off run .😆
Yes they can, I suppose.
So could we, but I think it's unlikely. There'll probably be a late run from one club who'll hit the playoffs with momentum.
When we do that we invariably go up, whereas statistics show reaching the knock out stages has the opposite effect on them 90% of the time.

I would love us to get in the play offs but like you say unlikely but you never know as you always get one team that goes on a decent run like w e have done in the past. 🤞

Only downside is that when we go up we have to put up with the borefest that is the Premier League.

If we struggle in that division all the whoppers will be on hyperdrive on here saying Critch out, Conte in. Should have bought a proven goal scorer like Mo Salah or Harry Kane.

At least if we do go up we might have a bit more than a set of sprinklers to show for it?

We could as anything can happen in this league, but probably won't.

I am certain that every player in the dressing room is looking up rather than down as we now have a MASSIVE gap (20 POINTS!!!) between us and the bottom three.

We're on 40 points now with 17 matches left.

Assuming we need 70 points for Playoffs, we'll need to win at least 10 matches (and probably a draw or two as well). It's not a insurmountable task, but it is a very very difficult one though...

Consistency is key. Also we need Kirk, Dale and Beesley to step up and be able to change an outcome. Dale proved it's posible, but then again, he has to constantly do it week in, week out.

We're nowhere near ready for promotion yet. Have we got a single player that we could definitely say would play consistently well in the PL?

Last time we went up we had Adam, Vaughn, DJ and Brett who had both played top flight and Seamus Coleman. In this team I think only Keogh (many years ago) and possibly a couple of games for Stewart have PL experience.

Just enjoy the remainder of the season and let natural development take place. I'd be really surprised if we don't have genuine shot at promotion in the next couple of years but it feels too early this season.

Anything is possible, and I would love to see us in the Premier again. That said, I would be happier if we consolidated this season and then went up automatically rather than through the playoffs. That bubble has to burst one day, so automatic would be preferable.

I'm afraid it's the usual thing of getting carried away again. Somewhere not to long before Xmas we had a great run and did we get to sixth and of course all the talk was again of getting in the play offs. Cue a bad run. A few good performances again but even so we are still a good way adrift of a play off position. Sometimes I think there is no balance on here, it's either extreme over optimism or extreme pessimism.
For me, as it's always been, one game at a time and lets see what happens and where it takes us.

Think we'll flirt with the playoffs, might still be in with a chance at the end of the season. Got a feeling we may have finally found our scoring boots as well.

Southampton went straight up, didn't they?

This is one of my more mad opinions, but long term I think the club might best be served with a couple years of steady growth and infrastructure before looking upwards.
If we went up with a proper training ground, an established youth development system and a club ethos, it'd be far more exciting than getting up for a season and not being ready.

It's also a massive ask for Critch to cope with youth team to League 1 to Championship to Premiership in consecutive seasons.

Again, it might be an unpopular opinion but I love the championship, and turning up at every game knowing we have a chance. At the moment, could we really imagine taking points from any of the top 8 in the Prem? So that's 16 games a season minimum I'm turning up for expecting to get battered. Where we are now, I fancy us to have a chance against anyone in the league.

We'll get something against Bournemouth, and you can quote me on that. Enjoy where we are now.

As some have said a period of steady consolidation and building with promotion to the Prem in a couple of years might prepare us better to actually stay up if we managed to get up.

I predict we will be travelling to Peterborough in May in massive numbers, cheering the Seasiders on in the sunshine to three points and desperately checking results elsewhere☀️COYP
