One story that has gone under the radar today is that the OSC have opened an investigation into the Trump campaign. They are specifically looking at possible breaches of the Hatch Act, which precludes the use of federal facilities for campaign events.

It’s not remotely similar... The vast majority of COVID victims, will likely have caught the virus innocently through work, attendance at college university or normal legitimate and legal activity..

It's a fair point - he is hight profile. But I asked because I'd just read a Guardian article about several senior Republicans calling out Trump.

It is excruciatingly slow I agree. But it’s only because Covid has led to a higher number of mail in ballots. And obviously if you want to eliminate any possibility of fraud, you have to take your time.

Plus it winds up the Trumpettes.

We should get more news from Pennsylvania and perhaps Arizona around midnight our time.

In their defence, they only have a finite number of people to do the work, they are under an enormous level of scrutiny and they will do everything they can to be right first time. And in Pennsylvania in particular they have never had to deal with postal ballots before, let alone on such a huge scale.

All that said, Nevada seem to be doing it as a hobby. When you look at the speed of progress there it makes Florida all the more impressive.

Very understandable.

I wasn't quite right, actually. Nevada may say something about midnight along with Pennsylvania. Arizona more like 2 a.m. They will have to do it without me, I've had three late nights in a row with this saga and I am knackered.

What is interesting here is the insults that continue to be thrown at the republican voters (all 70 million of them) - apparently they are all still racists, and need educating by the morally and intellectually superior democrats.

Very similar to the UK.

I would suggest to you that you are mistaken.

Just because 70 million people voted for a racist doesn`t mean all 70 million are racist.

Nor have I seen any evidence on television that Democrats feel intellectually or morally superior; but I may have been watching the wrong channels.

Regarding this board, I think once you lump people into subsets you are going to come to erroneous conclusions.

Every poster and post should be judged on its own merit...

Really? I think the majority on here have shown a lot of restraint. This has been a good thread on the whole with a mixture of points. Reading back through it, it has shown how the election changed.
 
By the time these remaining states count the votes and declare who’s won people are going to forget who they voted for. 🙄

Fake news.

The reality is that some Trump supporters are hyper sensitive and can’t stand anyone challenging their world view without flying off the handle.

Ironic if you cast your mind back to how they mocked the Democrats back in 2016. Like all bullies they can dish it out, but hate it when it comes back their way.

Note I said “some” Trump supporters. I imagine the vast majority are decent people, even if I struggle to understand how they could ally themselves to a man like Trump.
 
Maybe Hitler is the answer why so many people are still voting for and believing Trump. I found an interesting quote in a book I recently read which explained why so many women were fanatical about Hitler, even though he was very dismissive of women, wouldn't allow them to join the party, primarily told them to stay at home, have many blue-eyed, blonde children, cook and clean whilst men ran the country and fought for it, as they were the master race.

I suppose it’s like some people in this country who would vote any labour leader in rather than a Tory, and vice versa.

I’d bet there are plenty of Republicans who would rather have had a different candidate than Trump, but couldn’t bring themselves to go Democrat.
