Blackburn v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 21.02.23

We'll never get out of this mess trying to hang on in games. It's far too risky and we'll get lucky once every ten games like Saturday.
MM needs to go for it with Bowler and CJ on. He'll get us relegated with his archaic football.

Rogers doesn't need to beat a man everytime, he can pass and move. Beat a man when it matters not in no mans land.

Really don’t know how Patino gets straight back in. Fair enough if Fiorini is injured but there is nothing there. Blackburn, like all teams, just finding it so easy.
we have completely fucked up the recruitment of midfielders for 2 seasons, Dougall just proved again that he is nowhere near good enough and shouldn't be anywhere near the first XI but we have no other options, Anderson, Stewart, Bridcutt and Trybull all came to us with terrible injury history and have been really poor signings, what's the point of signing players that they know have these problems?

We aren't down and there's still plenty of time in this game but the board have been absolutely useless.

What would CJ be doing differently here? Compared to the utter shite he's delivered for the last 7 games?
He's got pace and that can be very helpful away from home. Bowler the same. We've proven time and time again we can't pass and therefore zero possession.

Just got very little quality haven't we, if we tried to play more we'd be better on the ball but when we do get it it's that infrequent that we often waste it.
Dougall is L1 quality. Patino isn't the wonderkid we think he is. Carey doesn't quite have it yet.

And that midfield is the problem. You add a Trybull, Fiorini, Bridcutt and you're fine. Actual intelligent footballers.

Maybe Punch that Ayala in his teeth then second half. It’s not like the ref is going to give a foul for it so might aswell

Can’t believe how consistently bad the officials are. They’ve not even had any particularly difficult decisions to make yet have got them wrong repeatedly.

The players are only as good as the coaching and the tactics. Critchley did an awful lot better.

Start OK, then let them get on top, whilst they weren't exactly peppering our goal, it was coming. We did better in the last 15, they aren't that good and being helped by a ref and linesmen who only seem to want to give free kicks in their favour. We have to start causing teams more threat, another half without an attempt on goal.

Ultimately it was a launched long ball only just kept in and then we looked like an under 11s side defensively and a cool finish. Not all that much in it save they can keep possession and we cant
