Blackpool v Cambridge United Official Matchday Thread 06.04.24

No doubt be as fantastic as Real Madrid according to Critchley! 🤷 6 points adrift now even a win might keep us 6 adrift. So frustrating. I'm guessing Critchley will then go even more cautious as they are in form and he can't afford to lose this. Ultra defensive, lots of back passing until they score and we are chasing the game. Hoofing the ball up to the dwarfy Lavery and Dembele, then bang on 70 minutes we will see a couple of headless chickens introduced without any effect . . .

We got stitched up with a starting 11 on April Fool's Day that wasn't actually a joke. I'm guessing all the other fixtures all fell on Groundhog Day because they are all so predictable and depressingly obvious by way of tactics and dire football.

Gave us a good hiding at their place ,admittedly we were toothless but the "thinking man,s" manager probably will rest a few ,Carey, Dembele, etc ready for our massive derby.

I just can’t see us winning as I’ve no belief in the team anymore.

Mind you I’ve thought that about every game this season and I’ve been wrong a few times.

Hopefully I’m wrong again🙏

If he starts Bloomfield Bear and leaves Dembele on the bench then I suspect we'll have problems, but then Bloomfield Bear did manage to kick a ball around the center circle on Monday so his confidence may be high?

Who knows, but whatever the outcome it's about them fine margins

Really wish BB would start 🐻.
Could he offer any less of a goal threat 🤷‍♂️

what happens if we cut the gap to 3 points with other results going our way? be funny to see the reaction on here.

Either way - first game for me since Bolton at home.

We haven't lost in the league at home since November . The last 3 games at home have been the thrashing of Bolton , the honourable draw
against Portsmouth and the disappointing draw against Wycombe so obviously we'll lose against Cambridge ! Oh sorry I forgot , you're always
right.
You are missing a key point. The crowd have turned on Critchley. Confience is very low. This will affect the performances at home going forward.

The crowd haven’t turned on critchley only a few in the north but they’ll still have season tickets next year regardless. Out of the last 5/6/7 managers critchley has the best win percentage

True, most supporters have been patient which is good.

However we are not playing great and the buzz has gone.

My lad put the 3-3 Oxford highlights on this evening, loved it.

Covid so not that many supporters allowed in the ground but it was so positive.

Need to get that back next year.

Steady, boring is no good, life’s too short.

Do you read any social media?. I know this site is only a fraction of supporters, so wouldn't judge the majority of fans views just from AVFTT alone. However reading numerous FB posts on different fans groups along with individual supporters posts and fans I know would beg to differ from your point "about a few in the North).

A lot in the North?
I'm not on Facebook or X.

Off to the Lakes today. Picked a bad weekend with storm Kathy but probably still better than watching Critchball.
I’m here already it’s not too bad at the moment lots of rain last night but dry this morning it’s also not as windy as the forecast predicted. 🚤

I suppose if you never wanted him back in the first place you can't technically "turn" which was probably a good 30%-40% starting point at the beginning of the season. As a rough figure plucked from the air I'd say 60% are against him, 20% are on the fence and 20% still support him. Just my personal belief. Either way he's not very popular.
