We may need to score 3 to win. Can't see that, or a least it would be a pleasant surprise. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet either, so 2-1 would be the most likely home win.

I'd go 1-2(+).

Hopefully confidence continues to build so I'm going to go for a 2-1 win, but I'd be happy with a draw if it meant we took another step forward in becoming a more cohesive team.

I think that is fair enough, Yates may not have scored yet but does work tirelessly, so bringing in fresh legs makes sense. Hopefully Woodburn brings the quality we need.

Would have been my exact team selection except maybe bring in one of the new CBS but if they’re not playing yet I’m sure there’s a good reason for that, getting some consistency in the back four etc.

Make no bones about it, I'd have brought Ballard in as I would have done last saturday. Sort of blows a hole in peoples argument that people need to train and acclimatise before they are ready with Wood burn coming straight in!

Or he just thinks the defence did well on Saturday so didn't want to change it.

I think contrary to what you said, it's easier to bring a forward in than a central defender. Especially into a forward line that just isn't functioning. Less to lose, and we need goals, we need change up front. Just my 2p.

I'd like to say we'll win but I'm struggling to see where the goals will come from. Certainly not from a set piece. Maybe it's time we had a bit of luck with decisions or OGs. Just a flukey 1-0 will suit me.

Or you could also look at it as Neil really wanting to fix us not scoring ASAP, and also not wanting to rush in new signings. So he’s brought in Woodburn, and that means bringing in Ballard would be too much too soon?

CB more sensitive position though, perhaps his thinking , and the defence were OK on Saturday

Surprised Ballard isn’t starting to be honest, is Woodburn playing on the Left of a front three or is he playing behind the front two of Madine and CJ ?

A little strange that he brings in two new centre backs to the club but neither get a start. Do we assume that Ekpiteta and Husband are his first choice pairing?

Plus NC said Woodburn has had a full pre season and is fully match fit but he couldn't play on Saturday because he signed too late. Ballard is also match fit but got back late from international duty so his exclusion is purely based on sticking with the defence who played well a few days ago. So really, 20's is talking bollocks (although I would have preferred Ballard in the middle and Husband as left back, but Mitchell gives us some pace and attacking guile).

People been clamouring for change upfront he

id say left as he likes the 433

The defence as a unit hasn't been my concern despite the goals we have conceded. The majority has been down to individual errors not how the defence has been set up.

We haven't actually given up that many chances this season.

It one of those dilemas again if you mean Ballard instead of Hubby? Do you go for a bigger physical presence but 2 righties or keep one of each?

Do you not think he might play Woodburn a little deeper to try and link the midfield and the front men ? There has been a bit of a gap in the recent games .

I don't think he will be ditching the formation he's desperately been trying to coach the players how to play just yet.
So it will be same again, IMO of course.

Interesting line-up. Shame that Garbutt is not fit.

Woodburn in for Yates. Looking forward to this.

Come on you Pool. Lets have a great performance.

So I seen woodburn YouTube interview, he says a left winger his preferred position
so we have natural positions on both flanks now , left foot right foot , madine up front

Don’t know why but I can just feel it’s going to be a win. Sue me later.

I don't think Woodburns lack of training time is as much an issue as it is the others as Woodburn will be playing the Liverpool way and as such will already be pretty clued up on what Critch wants of him - Ballard, Gretarsson and Dougall less so. If i'm being honest i'd have much rather had Woodburn in for Ward but obviously Critch wants Woodburn playing much higher up the pitch. Could be useful bringing a restless Yates on against a hopefuly tiring defence later in the game. That chasing down and terrier type spirit of Yates could well cause some headaches.
