Blackpool v Fleetwood Official Matchday Thread 13.03.21

Have you noticed the other 13 Sunday league linesman that agreed with my post?
Admit it you saw the game wrong today, no need to feel ashamed and lash out we're all seasiders on this board👍🏻
Not ashamed about anything, I believe we are a lot better than that performance and recent performances, apologies for the high expectations pal.

Hang on everyone hold it right there LGDSeasider is going to give a concise explanation on how shite and WHY they were so.
He's got all the answers ( he knows the game you know!!)

Dougall had been shite ever since Stewart signed, not sure how anyone has him as MOTM today, really wonder what people are watching sometimes.

I’m shocked you find us good and I can tell you haven’t played football yourself, probably a Sunday league ref or linesman
We were quite clearly better on that ball than past games and actually created some chances today. Not blistering, could have had more, could have done better, but improved and if anyone deserved to win the game it was us.

I just believe we can do better, maybe worded wrong!

First things first, I don't like Critchley's/Calderwood's style of play. It reminds me of the infamous interview with Paul Ince at the end of the 2012/13 season highlights DVD: 1-0 is the best result. Keep your shape, keep it tight and score a goal. That for me is not the Blackpool way.
Then again, there's no point in me, or anyone, coming on here shouting for his head. It ain't going to happen.
So, what is there to say about the match? Yates was certainly off the boil. I'd have pulled him on the hour. Hamilton was not match ready but he contributed to an extent. He should have buried his chance.
Other than that, our passing was only consistently good in the final 15 mins but why we have to stroke it around in our own half when time is running out, AAAARGH!
Simms gets too much stick. His receiving, shielding and laying off are good. He should be in the hole, he's not a striker.
When Hamilton was hooked Kaikai should have gone with him; Mitchell on the left, Ward on the right. In fact, I would have started with Ward in place of CJ.
Finally, when is Madine coming off "the grass" and onto the pitch...we need him.

I

all I said is I genuinely do not believe we play good football and should be doing a lot better under Critch giving his coaching badges.

I played in the Allsvenskan for 4 and a half years

That wasn't the thing I was taking issue with; that's fair enough on the criticism / your opinion. It was the dismissing another poster's opinion saying he mustn't have played football before if he thought a certain way.

And that's class, who for?

It seems you don't agree with 95% of this board tonight.
And I'm not your pal after calling me a moron and bellend.
Go climb back up your own sanctimonious arsehole
I’m not interested who I do and don’t agree with. Feel free to leave your name wizzergimp

Yeah it wasn't like wow passing and at times it broke down but we at least were the team on the front foot, we passed and attacked, just the finishing wasn't quite up there today.

Let's face it they had almost nothing second half really.

Given the last games I've been critical of our use of the ball and constantly going long so its an improvement.

Strikers weren't on it today.

If we can carry this improvement on and start putting the ball away then we get excited. But just not enough goals in the side still.
Which points to a lack of quality

Do you really think we’re catching Sunderland? Do you watch our games?
I do watch our games and have admitted to being quite critical of them, with that being said I'd still rather go into our games hoping for us to win and hoping for us to make the play-offs regardless of my opinions on certain aspects of our play.

If I didn't I may as well have stopped watching on iFollow a while ago.

We can, but if today Fleetwood would have dominated us like mk dons did and we were just hoofing it up aimlessly like we had seen id be raging.

But today I was much happier with what we tried to do.

It didn't always come off and we dominated the second half but couldn't find the finishing today, which wasn't there.

But ill take that improvement from past games where we folded in possession and sat back and couldn't put a pass together.

There's not enough goals still but we were a bit unlucky not to have at least 1 today.

Ooh, sticks and stones

I couldn’t agree more but how many times are we going to say this?

Yeah, but we are what we are, missing Madine doesn't help, but he doesn't exactly fire them in either.

A couple of our attacking players havent worked out, Sarcic would you believe was meant to be a forward, saw nothing from him. Luballa did almost nothing most the time.

If we were a top side we'd have more attacking power to bring on.

We could do with more options but given we don't, imo no harm in giving Apter or someone like that a try. Scoring for fun i believe in the reserves and when you need a goal you usually need a striker.

A word on Simms and the criticism. The lad is young and developing, and we didn’t get him to play the amount of game time he’s had. First half he bossed there defence, but dropped off in the second. That’s exactly what you get with a developing young player.
I think he will end up a far better player than Yates young lad learning his trade give him a chance and I think he will get better each game

Agree. That's what you do get with this good developing player.

Blackpool playing well, unfortunately the ref doesn't seem to be able to do his job very well so Blackpool's players are being kicked, bullied and shoved all over the place with no repercussions.
IF the ref steps up and does his job 2nd half Blackpool win.
Grow up ffs!!

I don't think a point was fair at all, I think if you had to say who deserved anything from that game it was Blackpool. I can't think of a single decent chance Fleetwood had, you could maybe argue that Vassell chance but we had a few and just didn't put them away
Take the orange specs off pal😊😊😊

Not a good result! To be honest I thought Yates and Simms were awful today. Yates I can forgive but Simms looks more and more ineffectual each game. CJ improved a bit and should've stayed on.

So many corners and free kicks around their box but again.. nothing!! I think Turton's done well over the last three games but why no Gabriel? There's not a lot between them but the later is much more dynamic.

Maxwell 5 Turton 6 Ballard 5 Husband 5 Garbutt 5 Kaikai 5 Stewart 5 Dougall 6 Hamilton 5 Yates 4 Simms 4

Virtue 6
Mitchell 6
Get a grip

...but Simms isn't what we needed. We needed a goalscorer not a novice.

Look at those fouls, dirty bastards.

Those stats just scream that we were the better side, the Yates chance in the first half and Hamilton chance in the 2nd were clear cut and another day we easily win that game.
Still ended 0 0 didn't it softarse, jeez football is NOT dictated by conceding the least number of fouls, just saying! And the referee was wank for both teams today btw
