Blackpool v Huddersfield Official Matchnight Thread 07.02.23

I notice that both Wigan and Huddersfield are 3/1 odds of a win.

Anyone brave enough to go for a double(12/1) which if comes off will soften the blow.
 
The players need to approach this game like a play off final , Tempo has to be high and we need goals ! Maybe a game that suits the quicker players as we need to be on the front foot.

This would be a great side if we dominated the ball but I think we'd end up hoofing it to Yates and it would come straight back, I'd be interested to see that side in action but I think we need Madine to hold up the ball and bring others into the game.
 
Thoughts from my Hudders friend:

"Equally awful season with our current manager Mark Fotheringham not very popular seems to think we have played brilliantly every game even when lose. No pace or creativity in the team though Knockhaert may help when fully fit. Another gripe we keep signing injured players. There was a protest on Saturday and the owner trying to sell, so unhappy picture all round. Like you we need to win games like tomorrow before tougher games come up next month. 1-1 then !
 
Has all the makings of a classic! That said with the correct system in place this is a winnable game. Their fans are in dispute with their board and with a first time Mr Nobody as their manager there won't be much confidence on their part.
McCarthy has to get this one organized properly.
 
I’d guess Huddersfield will be happy with a draw, so will probably set up to defend and get us on the break. MM will know this and will select players and system accordingly

Huddersfield really don’t have any goals in their team ,we need to go at them from the off ,pressure pressure pressure and when we’re knackered bring subs on to pressure again .We will win this game
 
Let’s get all those remaining tickets sold….there are a lot particularly all around the south. Also there will be quite a number of season tickets holders unable to attend Due to rearranged nature of the game.
 
Press press press & sub for fresh & continue to press. Get the forwards to dance before the game to whatever loud tune they like & give them a bit of swaggerbility. Mainly to lighten the mood. Plus a Churchillian team talk. 😃
 
Just had a trip over to the Udders board.
Many think like we do it’s a must win game for them as well.
A good number of them confident they’ll be returning over the Pennines with all 3 points.

Understandable. Anybody who doesn't beat us is likely to get a lot of criticism from their fans. We are the whipping boys of the division.

I suppose it’s no different from our own prediction league.
Week after week fans keep predicting us to win games but I just don’t know what they are seeing on the pitch that I am? 😮
For the first time this season my thoughts are if we don’t get maximum points tonight/Saturday then we’ve had it plain and simple.
I think hanging on to Appleton far too long may have already cost us if truth be known we were in free fall everyone could see what was coming yet the board didn’t act quick enough.

Huddersfield Town will be missing midfielder Duane Holmes for the key clash on the road to Blackpool due to a tight calf and will be rested.

The Seasiders take on the Terriers tomorrow evening in a huge encounter at Bloomfield Road. Huddersfield are only a point ahead of Blackpool in the table.
 
Keep it tight at the back, but go for an early goal.
Hudders will be happy with a draw, be defending for their lives, and hoping to hit us on the break or from a set piece.
The winner takes it all.

After all our doom and gloom I think it’s time we gave somebody a tanking, why not tonight? Appleton drained all the enthusiasm out of both the team and the fans, let’s show the team tonight we’ve got our mojo back. We have to go for it tonight, and you can't do that with 5 defenders.
 
I think that if we're not winning by halftime, we should go on the pitch and protest.
I am sure that the Huddersfield fans won't mind it!
