Great block from Marv and then Connolly but then poor from Dougall, and then a shocking cross from Connolly, who I have to say is just not a defensive midfielder.
 
I feel for Dougall, he’s played a lot of games at this high level and it’s a big job being the CDM.

Connolly too, hasn’t had a run of games to get match sharp. Jerry however, is great to watch. Confidence is what we need right now.
 
All things considered gotta be happy with that.

Comfortable in possession at the back, skipping the midfield is working just fine. Keshi putting some mileage in.
 
Keshi and Dougall the pick for me - worried about Husband - maybe sub him for Mitchell at some point?
 
We’re struggling to get any kind of pattern of play or passes together, Boro look more of a threat. They’re pressuring us well when we try playing out from the back. Nice to see a few long diagonals by Gretarrson as a change in okay. We don’t really have much of a link in midfield, very bitty. To be expected with injuries etc. 0-0 or 1 Nile either way this.
 
Pretty good end to end half. Jerry looks to be on fire, Madine backing him up. I'm just not sure about Keshi being in the centre of midfield, he is better out wide and coming back in. The 2 wing backs have been excellent and they really give us some attacking purpose but are also defensively good. The back 3 have been excellent but Marv is stand out again, he must be on some PL teams radar, he's that good.

Dougall is struggling, probably because he is having to work doubly hard because of Connolly, who, I'm sorry, just isn't a midfielder of any sort. I know I keep going on about him but I just don't rate him. If we had had a back 5 tonight with Wintle next to Dougall and Carey in front then I think that would work really well. Shame Carey is long term injured and Wintle may be going back to Cardiff!

If Critch wants to change it in the second half he is going to have to revert to a 442 especially if he wants to bring Bowler on.

I think Dougall and Connolly swapping positions would help them both.
 
we look pretty solid so far and are having moments going forward.

this refs going to send a player off, hes clamouring for attention

I think he's been excellent tonight, but he is prone to moments of madness especially near the touchline, it was totally unnecessary tonight and after his shocking tackle at Hudder's, where he could easily have been sent off, he doesn't help himself. However he has been stand out all season for me and we are a lot worse without him.
 
Watching Tony Parr make an announcement, nothing comes through the speaker and he flicks the microphone switch on and off 🤣
 
I remember reading that a postman got sacked after having two separate serious injury accidents, the tribunal finding the he failed to look where he was going and this seriously affected his ability to deliver.

Connolly’s deliveries are even worse than the sacked postman I reckon.
 
Looking tired and thought that would happen at some point - always thought we’d need to score early in this game.
