Blackpool v Middlesbrough Official Matchnight Thread 11.08.21

2 nil Pool. Why not.

Silly question as well.. I assume we would be OK to pick up season tickets before the game tomorrow, ready for Saturday?

I read on the internet that Neil Warnock didn t believe that the fixture against us was
going to be as frantic as Boros last game against Fulham and he would use his squad
and fringe players for the game..

He might have a point, Fulham looked very good and rather fast In attack, however he shouldn’t underestimate the mighty pool and our team spirit, never mind the tactical nouse of our head coach.

Does anybody know if you can buy this game on TTV?

From club email, today:

Looking forward to this.
I wouldn’t normally travel for an evening game, 5hr round trip, but I cannot get to Blackpool on Saturday.
Also travelling for Coventry next Tuesday.
I expect to pick up my ST tonight …

Being unable to get to most matches, I’m going to miss Ifollow this season- watched 46 last season and it was great, especially with capping it off with promotion

I agree. It was amazing last year to watch every game on iFollow, and increase our bonding with the team - I watched every game too. But, that was an exceptional circumstance in response to fans being barred from games by the Covid rules.

This year, now that fans are allowed into stadiums, iFollow is not allowed to show certain games either. Tangerine TV and iFollow are both bound by the same rules. The idea is to encourage fans into stadiums instead of watching matches at home, but I think it goes too far, and some relaxation would increase revenue for clubs without loss of atmosphere at matches.

Only Saturday afternoon games won't be streamed, and they will be available to watch in full the day after. So you can still see every game in full.

Matt Scrafton's predicted line up looks pretty strong:

Pool’s predicted line-up (4231): Maxwell, Connolly, Ekpiteta, Casey, Garbutt, Dougall, Ward, Bowler, Carey, Anderson, Lavery

I'd be inclined to played James at LB and John-Jules instead of Anderson. New boy game time. CJ needs practice too.

That would only work if the stream is more expensive than the ticket price anything to encourage fans going over staying at home for example 2x tickets, couple of pints each and maybe a pie and we've put nearly 50 quid in the BFC till tonight and the only problem with streaming games more people don't pay for it than do.

My first trip to BR since Critch and Covid arrived, tonight. First Championship level game since Holloway left. In fact I've only been to BR 2 or 3 times since then, that's nearly 9 years ago. Oystons and Covid. Most of a decade wiped out. Bonkers.
I stayed for a bit of Appleton/Ince but realised the writing was on the wall around Ferguson's time. Didn't buy in to the whole Riga thing and had planned a few away trips that season but we were so crap I didn't bother. Went to the homecoming and a couple of games after. Was so disillusioned again when we appointed Larry that I didn't buy a ST but saw us maybe twice and I went to Critch's first game and that was it (went to Wembley as well).

So for me I reckon that's 6 times in 7 years at BR! Season ticket bought and looking forward to making up for lost ground!

Very impressed that Boro have already sold 1600 tickets (according to their website yesterday) with many more expected to pay on the gate. Great turnout for a midweek first round cup match away from home.

From their board:
this is the first time we have played at Blackpool in the summer holidays for years, they usually give us a midweek in the winter. People have been looking forward to it.

I'm expecting a pool win tonight but keep an eye out for boros number 10 called payero. He's one of argentinas brightest prospects, why he's at boro is beyond me.

I thought I could listen to it on TTV as part as my monthly subscription. Is it not available on radio lancs?
