Blackpool v QPR Official Matchday Thread 14.03.23

Credit where credit is due. A great result tonight and not only 3 points but 6 goals an a much improved goal difference. Credit has to also go to MM, he has seen how your lot play these past number of weeks and seen where the weaknesses and strengths are and chose a team that played so well tonight. 👍

Unbelievable ⚽⚽☺️ and pleased for MM as I can’t help but like him.
Same. He’s a real person, not one of these “media trained football managers”. Says it how it is, puts his arm round the players and is just a genuine bloke. I don’t blame him for any of this mess that we’re in. Couldn’t see us winning 6-1 with numpty Appleton in charge if we had him for the rest of time.

Fantastic win, very happy and enjoying a rare nerve settling whisky on a normally dry night 👍.
Pretty good results elsewhere too.
Just need Cardiff to lose tomorrow night and the gap is back down to three points with similar goal difference.
The Great Escape could be back on 🤞.

Max 8
Lyon’s 10
Nelson 9.5
Thorniley 9
Husband 9
CJ 9.5
Connolly 8
Fiorini 9
Patino 9

I reckon that you should have given 9 for both Maxwell and Connolly.
The match was phenomenal. I have said it's 'shiit or bust' from now until the end of the season. Pool play far better when going for a win from the start than trying to 'shut up shop' for an hour and giving it a slight go in the last 30 minutes, or when we score a goal followed by a defensive slog. Why not treat away matches like home games and go for another 'perfect ten?' We might not achieve that, but if we won another five games, I feel that would do the business and keep us in the Championship.
🧡COME ON YOU MIGHTY POOL🧡

Morning! How's everyone feeling after last night? I don't think anyone saw that coming!

Analysed it for LancsLive as the 'Joy of Six' and there's talking points on the courage of Yates to step-up to take the penalty, Fiorini's redemption & how important the scoreline could be for Blackpool's goal difference. Any feedback welcome :)

We even got a mention on Talksport this morning. Although it was more about QPR being beat 6-1 than
Blackpool doing it. QPR being the London media darlings and us being poor little Blackpool from up north.

Last night was wonderful and they played like a different team. In the first half they were pressing like mad and winning most of the second balls. Something we haven't seen for a long time. Looked like a team on a mission but they need to keep it up.

Jerry did get booked and why is there a picture of Blackpool fans celebrating at Bramhall Lane?

It'a been an interesting exercise to read the QPR fans forum. It could have been AVFTT before tonight, fans blaming the ref, calling him a homer, calling for Ainsworth to go, blaming Critchley, disputing goals for previous missed offside calls, saying that all the Blackpool players have to do is fall over to get a free kick, crucifying one player for poor play. It goes to show that fans are all the same the world over!

Apologies - clumsy wording. In terms of photos - only have access to PA and they seldom seem to want to travel to the Gold Coast. Last time they did they took more of Burnley than Blackpool!

Whats it like being overly negative to the point you deprive yourself of a 6-1 win and a cracking atmosphere? Why do you bother getting out of bed in the morning youre only gonna end up back there 16hrs later
Saved myself 30 quid though so every cloud. Used the money to buy myself a new sweater which I look very good in by the way.
