I see the players are now in the firing line on here. It's not their fault, they can only do what they are capable of, they are giving their all, they just aren't anything like a Championship side and MA can only do so much. Of course the board are super hero saviours so can't be criticised, but for me, that's where the problem lies and they have to learn fast or before long they will be the ones under scrutiny.

We can still get something out of this, we are better going forward than defending for sure and the lack of a defensive midfield leader for so so long is unforgivable.
 
No need for insults. Patino has obvious qualities but he needs the right players around him. Without them, he’s a luxury
 
I genuinely can’t understand what Appleton is striving to achieve here - his flair players are defending (badly), his goal scorers are out wide and my only hope is that this is so easy for Sheff Utd that they lose momentum and we nick one in the 97th minute!!

Madine just had a massive go at Thompson because he get's forward then stops and passes backwards. Madine wants him to hit some fooking crosses in. He's shite.
 
We look leggy and hopeless. We’ll come out in the second half and give this a go. We might even scrape a draw. All the Apple’s cider drinkers will open wide and suck it down, banging on about the amazing job he’s doing. Repeat again next week.
 
Midfield is nowhere near united here. Loads of effort, just not good wnough unfortunately. At least the team have grafted

Exactly and that is why Appleton is right to get criticism. That has nothing to do with injuries, Mansford, etc.
 
think going forward we carry a threat and have created 3 good chances but defensively we look wide open and that is what we've been working on and concentrating on apparently
 
Need half time. Sheffield United absolutely bossing it after we started out the blocks on top for first 10 mins.

Thompson is a kamikaze. Looks good at times but does some awful things.

Can understand Madine’s frustration.

They are pretty much one sided. Got nothing to offer on the left hand side at the mo. We need to tighten up right hand side.

Bessley too weak I think, but Yates also struggling a bit it looks.

Changes needed. Poveda looking good though I think - looks hungry
 
A difficult half. I cant fault the effort of the players but we are second best so far. They knock the ball around so much better and work it well in tight spaces.We are too slow for their movements.
