Marginally worse than the news Appleton was being appointed last season. Totally uninspiring appointment, starting to worry about Mr Sadler if this is true.
Sacked just after Christmas, with Frank McLintock coming in as caretaker to save us from Division 2.
 
Bowyer has done well at Dundee , and the fans are extremely saddened by his departure - got us a promotion under the Oystons - could work well with Dobbie playing a major part

For a club that should be looking to get promoted out of League One, it isn't dreadful but it is pretty uninspiring. He's never been near a promotion at the level we're playing at next season.

Spot on. He also flopped on his arse at Bradford and bored the life out their fans and failed at Salford despite having one of bigger budgets in League (to be fair most have).

If this is our ambition then we haven’t got much.

Neither has anyone else we were rumoured to be looking at, except Critchley.

It screams playing safe.

For the second season in a row we’re hiring a manager who was sacked by a club in the league below.

He’ll be cheap as chips.

I have so much respect for the guy for what he did for us previously and i don’t think he’s a bad manager, but yet again it’s a previous employee who isn’t going to be getting anyone off their seat.
 
Aren't people paid actual money to find viable candidates for positions at our club?

Does it get to Friday 4:59pm, and whoever was tasked with finding the new manager realises they were meant to have appointed one before they clock out for the weekend - so they just open this list and pick a name that hasn't retired or died:

Just watch the class of 92 series for Bowyer in action. Nice bloke but absolutely dreadful uninspiring manager. We’ll never get promotion with him in league 1. Yes he got us up from league 2 but if I remember right we finished 7th with a big budget for that division and getting Dundee promotion, it’s a bloody pub league and they were the biggest club in the division by a mile. Prefer Big Mick back to this guy.
