Brighton v Blackpool Official Matchday FA Cup Thread 23.01.21

Shite team, who are we to take the cup lightly, how much does the club get if it wins this game? Finances are hard, last game called off put a team out ffs!

This could be a 3 5 2 with Ekpiteta Thorniley and Husband being the back 3.
Can't really see how else it could work with that starting 11.

Already 2 mistakes from commentary he said Brighton to kick off and then it was Nigel Critchley from the other commentator.

Has Chizzy been coaching them?

Good to see so many well informed supporters on here!!

The game should really have been postponed but that isn't possible whilst the shit virus is still causing havoc. Still a decent side but missing key players. I would guess the next 2 league games will be postponed. Be interesting to see how we get on with 3 at the back and wing backs.

How is that a shite team we're playing our two main strikers our captain and centre half who plays every game.
Seeing as we've been charged 5k for the use of VAR wonder if it'll be used.

Have we been charged 5k. Cheeky sods you’d think Brighton would pay it. Why would the lower league club want it when it’ll be us under the cosh for most of the game.

So the charge for VAR is £10k per game! I did not know that. They are taking the mickey. “They” being the FA, I assume. It seems unfair to subject a team that plays outside Prem and is unused to VAR to it. It gives the home Prem team an advantage, I feel, if only a psychological one, in knowing that.

they don't play a big man up front so for gods sake get either the 2 centre halves and or Madine picking up Dunk and Webster from their set pieces/corners.

Yep 5 bloody grand Brighton wouldn't foot the whole bill and demanded it be split as is the case with costs and then profit split in FA cup games.
Tossers when you think the millions the PL is bringing them in.

Keeping the ball will be key for us today. I know that's stating the obvious, but making two passes in the same move at the moment is proving difficult. If we keep the ball for three, four or five passes, it'll make them chase round more and burn the clock down.

I have not liked Brighton for many years. Goes back to the last matches of the 1996-97 season when they had the 2 points that had been deducted for repeated pitch invasions and menacing behaviour restored on appeal, and Hereford lost their league place instead. Now they just feel like entitled upstarts.

If it's true that BHA looked for us to contribute to the VAR costs then that is very petty of them given the income differentials between the two teams. Makes our expenses gesture to Eastbourne Borough all the more creditable.

Wow what a disgrace.

We showed solidarity with Eastbourne in not charging them with those away team costs. Good to see what goes around comes around, I bet 5k is a drop in the ocean for them

Can tell prem club , how fit they are in closing pool down at the back
yet , if pool can attack more , Brighton do look a little uncomfortable at the back

We're playing good tidy football. Worried about setpieces though. Could see Dunk getting on on target.
