The only thing wrong he did for me was not saying a proper Goodbye. You couldn’t blame him for wanting a stab at the Prem.
However at least we had a project and players improving under him. Put the past behind us and get him back and get rid of this utter donut who has shown more contempt to the fans than Critchley ever did by staying silent.

I liked him & still do but I think never go back just look at Grayson & Appleton.

You’re a ** nugget. Was he a donut after Preston? Or watford? Or Burnley? Or Sheffield United? No he wasn’t.

He’s got 14 players, and 14 only, that he can play week in week out who are probably know all goosed due to having NO ONE on the bench due to the board spending NO money.
 
Can't see it, if the board are to be believed they'll have started identifying potential replacements for Appleton as soon as he was appointed "prepare for every eventuality". So if he's potted since we won't spend the going rate to get an experienced championship manager we'll be relying on a young, lower league manager with no experience at this level stepping up.
 
What makes people think critchley would come back? …seemed to me he left due to big wages on offer from villa …….or stay and do what you can with limited budget/money which is the situation Appleton finds himself in…?

We need to learn that going back to previous managers doesn't work. It's lazy and the board needs to stop doing it. So no, let's not bring Critchley back. I actually don't think we'll sack Appleton anyway tbh. The board insisted he was the right appointment against many of the fans wishes and they won't want to admit they were wrong. If that's the case they MUST back him in January. No more failing to land our most important transfer targets.

A manager's job is about players and organisation - and not much else.
Good players don't need to cost the earth either - look at our fairly recent history.
Wes, Charlie, Vaughan, Baps, Keogh, & Bowler to name a few.
They need finding and organising (good managers do this).
There are lots of young players in the lower leagues not given a chance due to expensive foreign imports at the bigger clubs.
It's lazy to blame money all the time, or the ref, or illness and injury - funnily enough other sides have these issues too.
We're sounding like .... It's never our fault.
Where's the scouting network? Where's the organisation, the effort on the park, you make your own luck.

I'll always give him credit for getting us promoted but like Grayson the championship was beyond him.

I say chaps, here’s what you do, pass the ball around the back, always sideways or backwards, for two or three minutes, until one of their chaps presses you, then pass it back to the goalkeeper, who gave it you in the first place, then he hoofs it up to our small strikers, who lose it to their giant defenders.

We won 2 out of the last 10. I’m not judging him on two ‘dead’ rubbers. I’m stating evidence as to why things weren’t right.

So yesterday, why didn’t he use Theo, Wright, Ward, etc… the guy is a baffoon and we’ve played well in about 5/6 matches so far.
 
Seem to remember Critchley getting slagged off at the end of the season when we were poor and he wasn’t playing Bowler
