Bristol Rovers v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 02.01.21

Said it before, where is the evidence of Critchleys great coaching, the players don’t look like there’re coached at all. Who has he improved ? Any set piece coaching, for or against?

Shit shit and more shit. Useless. No heart, no passion, no desire. Subs too late AGAIN, zero quality. I honestly don't know why I keep spending money to watch this utter shit. I feel for Sadler, I've only spent £10 today and I'm fuming, dread to think how he feels. We've got more chance of the Pope turing up at gay pride riding a unicorn shitting rainbows than we have of making the play offs.

Shame CJ is injured, he would have had a field day there with all the space on offer.
Not all negatives, we were unlucky not to score mor ethan one and it was a good, open game. We should have put the game to bed early on, but we didn't.
This is a work in progress, earlier on in the season I think many would have been happy with the performance today. We played some good football but lack goals. Bez looked better today, he is quite direct, it is a shame he wasn't introduced earlier.
Anyway we move on. It's not all negative, Critchley has potential to be a great manager.
A lot of people on here seem to oscilate wildly from result to result. We are not going to win every game.
You're off your head. Critchley and his players are dross.

I think we are a decent team who will finish mid table, we will beat some of the best teams and flatter to deceive against the poor teams. To make the next step our defence needs improving cos we just don't look solid and our strike force too cos we don't score and don't look like we are gonna score. Like watching a team play that constantly needs a rocket up em.
How many seasons can we be happy with mid-table?

Not what he said at all. Just unlikely that Gnands would be back as that ship had sailed.
From Saturdays Gazette “ Pool fans are saying we need a No 9”. Critchley said that is not necessarily the case as we have players on the books who can fill that role”

Think it is time for Bange and Apter to be on bench at least, could not do worse at finishing
Sounds like a reasonable shout. Least we d have local lad

My apology then... Not much of a Gazette reader 😁

Really? I wouldn’t mind losing to a decent team but Brizzle were on a shocking run of form and they were the stand out side.
I dont like losing to anyone but we did. Hey ho, we analyse, get back to training and go again together. We never win at Rovers, or over Chrustmas so why thd surprise?

it was a very frustrating but entertaining game we dominated for long periods of it again even though we had the ball in good areas all afternoon could only muster one goal against an average team also they could have had four goals again frustrating.

Embarrassing, another defeat snatched from the jaws of victory. Sorry guys but the tactics, endeavour and quality just not there. Not sure what the answer is but these players are better than they look so I am looking to the manager. He pisses about with the team, the players don't know what they are doing and we very rarely look like a team.
Yep fully agree with that.

The alternative is a replacement for Critchley. Pool will drop like a stone under him.
I'm working on a positive post that I hope to put on shortly. Why don't you try doing the same. I could go on the politics forum and post, "hi, I'm 1966 and I'm left wing." But after doing that several times people will already know and think I've got nothing to say...(hold that thought 20s), so come on, one positive thread about what we might do to improve things.
PS. Assume that Critchley stays and work from there.

I can’t see us in the top 6 but we are good enough for mid table and not in a relegation battle. A young team that will hopefully improve for next season. It’s a pity we haven’t got a couple of Premier League loanees like we had last season that can score from outside the box.
I just wish he would make his substitutions earlier to give players a chance to settle into the game.
He‘S an inexperienced manager who will definitely improve so we need to hang on to him and give him our support.

We don't open teams up hence why our shots always seem to get blocked. We have no real pace in the front two. I'd love to see Hamilton (when fit) up front with either Madine or Yates.

Let’s not feed the troll anymore.
if you don’t respond he’ll slither away to his Oyston constructed bridge

Best it’s ignored. I don’t mind debating with differing opinions but this troll is just bitter and twisted.

Yes but in doing that you free up more space.
For who???

I looked at some players today, steam coming out of their mouths and it reminded me of thoroughbred racehorses, and then I realised it was carthorses. Those players ahead of Dougall and Ward couldn't take advantage of space, which they had plenty of.

The impact of this is that Critch its likely to decide he has right all along and go back to 4 3 3. 4 4 2 relied more heavily than we realised on the ability of CJ to stretch and unsettle a defence, whether or not his crosses worked. He was as big a disruptor in his way as we expect Madine to be.

Same old reactionary garbage being posted again! Jesus, this place.
Like I said last week, it's both tiresome and embarrassing.
There's venting frustration, and there is the nonsense that some post on here.
It's every single time we don't win; everyone is crap, everyone should be sold, everyone is a disgrace, we're going nowhere, season over.
Every single ** time.

I reckon we'll be upper mid-table this season, we clearly don't have the consistency to reach the play-offs unless we sign some revelations this month.

I'm reverting back to my position that this is a transition season, the wins against the top sides in this division gave me a glimmer of hope we'd go up. Another 2 transfer windows with this squad and we should see more consistency and hit the ground running next season, the rebuild was always going to be difficult!
