BST statement

I like what BST are trying to do here; but as they point out we've lost £7m in TV revenue but call cheaper tickets.

The fans aren't responsible for the 7 million loss, and the fans shouldn't be expected to pay the same price for a lower quality product.
This is what you get for not investing in the team.
If you see how much was spent on players and wages the today there was no investment is plain wrong. If you think you can do better go for it.

The club concedes that NC's departure caught them unprepared and without a contingency plan in place.

This has been highlighted throughout the season and now as a major reason for our relegation.

Personally I find it astonishing that they never had a contingency in place; what if NC had fallen under a bus? Negligence on the part of the owner and highly paid CEO.

BST being supportive of the club at all levels. Thanks for all the hard work that you do.
I hope that BST can still keep dialogue going with the club .
We all support BFC apart from the odd one on here - what choice have we got?

We have an owner with the right intentions who is about as far away from the Vermin that is imaginable.

What I do know is that being a Blackpool fan is never boring - unlike being a knobber!

I have seen us apply for re-election and I have seen us top of the Premiership.

Of course I wish we had stayed up - but Blackpool till I die 🧡👍

Oystons and a Cartmell, and now a Sadler. All as bad as each other imo, destined never to have good owners it seems.

But the point I’m trying to make is that there are too many busy bodies sticking their oar in nowadays, ** infuriating…
The fact you mention SS in the same breathe as those other two is startling!

What on earth do you want from an owner??

i for one agree with bst statement
i will renew my 3 season tickets
mistakes have been made nothing wrong with that as long as learnt from
running a football club is not like running any normal business
much more emotion
starting point has to be agreeing what were the real mistakes
1 football away from fans has no loyalty either way what does anyone really expect if you are offered huge sums of money to move it is always a risk if you are any good any effective chief executive has to have a plan for succession immediate and long term
2 we have never really had an answer to the question as to why no interview/media content from critchley when he left wa sthat a bfc aston villa or critchley root cause
3 appletons appointment was not good and antagonised fan base very few examples of people coming back in same role ever works
4 having appointed him he wasnt really backed till january with his style of player to fit his 4 3 3 style
5 then we sign players that can play 4 3 3 then sack him and bring in mick and guess what same issue we hadnt players to play his style of football
6 injuries surely cant be all bad luck there has to be an element of taking a big chance with likes of stewart bridicut unfortuante as it is some players are more injury prone
7 has to be some form of internal strife stephenson leaves then the director of football leaves/sacked even brett goes something not right
8 ben mansford gets a lot of stick at his last club in israel he get a heroes send off applauded by players and fans so he cant be all bad but something isnt right otherwise wouldnt have all change mansford will be carrying out simon sadlers instructions?
9 incoming permanent transfers this last 12 months have been limited and apart from lyons not great
10 too many loans allegedly due to late appointment of critchleys replacement

not all been bad
generally fans have stuck with the team always get a few idiots throwing missiles etc but generally crowd good
bringing dobbie and eardley back good
development squad in place and doing ok
a few younger home grown players maybe ready for next year in division 1
some players out on loan have a years experience under belt

so what next
1 needs quick management replacement
2 the new manager involved in who stays/goes
3if jerry yates or marvin want to move on given relegation they should go with our best wishes but every effort to keep them
4 ensure we dont have a one dimensional squad we need flexibility of formation
5 dont take risks on injury prone players
6 be innovative in keeping as many season ticket holders as possible take a long term view for 2 years offer 400pounds for 1 year 250 pounds
7 simon sadler is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt all i would say is we all should give him 100percent support he just needs to be a bit more open and communicative
8 start pre season 2 weeks earlier and take new squad away for 2/3 weeks to really build on existing team spirit

the next 12 months will make or break the club for the next 10 years

A lot, in fact far too much mention of the Independent regulator. One man’s wet dream and seems like BST is being used as a vehicle of sorts to further his own skewed ideas.
Incorrect, it's mostly about several other things, all of which I'd hope most Seasiders would support. For instance, price point and suitable deals to maintain and grow floating support are key issues we have to get right as a club. We can't just rely on the loyal whatever and those with deep enough pockets for cost and cost planning not to be issues. This, like all BST comms, is from the committee not one person. Please let's stick to the facts.

What a load of entitled rubbish. Cringe.

Not sure why it's pinned. Their post is worth no more than anyone else's.
Hear hear! We keep being told that BST is a democratic organisation that represents the views of its members. Like hell it does. How many members were consulted on the substance of this statement before it went out? None, is my guess. This isn't a supporters group. It's a committee who decide what happens, when it happens and, now, what the organisation thinks. All the members do is crowdfund their pet projects.

Don't get me wrong, a strong BST should be an important part of what being a supporter means. But that can only happen when the Committee gets off its high horse and sticks to its real function, which is to facilitate active participation by it membership and prepare statements like the one pinned here but only after consultation with its members so that the statement truly represents the voice of its members.

Yep, we should have had a vote of all members of BST for each word of that statement. We might have got the statement out in about 18 months time and it would not make any sense but it would be 'democratic'.

Stupid of me to think that we voted for a committee to do things without having to refer everything to the full membership.

Not to decide what the membership thinks. Still if you're happy paying money to a small cabal without any say, carry on.

Personally I don’t think you are being fair
Obviously I have a vested interest but all I see are fans working very hard for the collective good
I’ve been on , off ( sorted of forced off 😆 ), watched from close and afar and currently back on albeit with work I struggle to match the commitment of the rest
The committee changes - a few people remain but a majority weren’t there first time round and that’s good in my eyes - keeps it fresh
I know 100% that the committee respond to every contact made by members and I can also say the national agenda hasn’t dominated any meeting I’ve attended - the focus has been very much on BFC issues
What they have had to do is repurpose themselves and that takes time
I’m sure if you ask you could sit in ( virtually ) and see what they do 🍊👍

Sorry, but people are questioning whether BST have consulted all its members on the wording of a statement, but apparently according to some it's perfectly fine allowing a single fan, who most of the fanbase don't know or have ever even met, access to the players to give them a speech.
Ridiculous.
Only one of millions of contradictions on here.

I think Sadlers challenge is to decide what is the best way to unite the fanbase and get the best outcome. That can’t be Critchley obvs. Dobbie? Maybe but a big gamble all the same.

I can't be bothered to read that as you've totally fucked up the formatting of the text and it's really pissing me off to look at.

Yes I appreciate that - I believe in the Trust - and they all do lots of work. I just want more member involvement. There's nothing better when the Board says, "who thought this one up?" to be able to say, "our members did and there's 1,500 of them."

Make of it what you will
It’s gone to all the members and from the feedback I’ve had the response has been positive - as an eg two more mascot packages have been funded by lottery subscriptions taken today
That £ goes straight back into BFC and helps nurture our next generation of fans

Ridiculous.
Both are ridiculous.

Fine. I'm happy for you - not sarcastic. But I realise if I want my voice heard I can do it on here and as a private individual. Shame though.

We get relegated and out comes this statement.
Radio silence for the last few weeks (months) as we reeled from MA to Mick to SD.
How hard is it to post something - very easy - look at all of us.
Cynical - yep, a well meant, but still bullet in the foot - a complacent attempt to convince the fans - like something from Succession.
Jeez.

If you look there’s plenty on the BST website which all members get straight into their inbox and regular updates in the Gazette All these get shared on social media

I check the website regularly - same old complacent bullshit week in week out - yet today, a plea from the heart ... c'mon.
