Burton Albion v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 26.12.23

I think some on here genuinely relish us losing so that they can turn on Critch. We’re at the halfway point of the season and are still in contention for the play offs. Give the manager the January transfer window, back him and if results don’t pick up in the new year then maybe consider alternatives. Sacking your manager with no succession plan is stupid and won’t bring us success

No football team gets success by not turning up to half the games. All players are entitled to off days, but when it's happening time and time again, it's where the manager is supposed to earn his crust through encouragement, motivation, changing tactics, game plans etc etc
Critchley isn't doing his job. He can talk the talk but can't walk the walk with any consistency whatsoever.

Chalk and cheese for a 6 foot 5ins goal keeper these crosses.

Yet another away defeat and not a single shot on target.

Sadler please please get rid of Critchley he’s slowly killing this football club. 🙏

We are past the halfway point. Not good enough. Time for a change.

Don’t want to be too reactionary, but this team and squad on paper is better than the last time we went up and for us to be in this position so consistently is nothing short of shocking.

And it’s all too predictable too, win easily at home, fall flat away against sides we should be beating.

I get wanting to respect opposition, etc, but Jesus Christ we’ve got Karamoko Dembele, Jordan Rhodes, Andy Lyons, and Ollie Norburn in our side we should be turning teams like Burton over.

Still time to turn it around though, biggest half of the season coming up next.
Don't agree, we had Bowler, Embleton, Ballard and Simms I think in the Jan window.

And blindly supporting something that isn't working is somewhat foolhardy

You could buy the entire Man City or Real Madrid team and they'd struggle against Burton, Cambridge, Wycombe and Northampton the way Critchley has them playing. It is very, very obvious they are not happy with the system. There is more than enough quality there but as soon as we go a goal down we are abysmal.

Who could you feasibly bring in? Critchley has an eye for a player, look at the last time we were in league one, he signed Embleton and Simms in January. Compare that to the shite signed by Appleton, Grayson etc. Give him the window and if things don’t change in the new year then we can look elsewhere
