CJ Hamilton

Low end/league one? He's proving that he's not that already, he terrifies championship defences and when he's played on his best side and given the right ball not many can stop him.

No one wins a game all on his own but he played a key role in those games.

If he could do it all the time he wouldn't be with us. His touch can let him down at times, but a lot of that was when he was coming back from injury and wary of it, not at his best, it's been better before his injury and recently.

We just have to use him right, plus the more he plays the more consistent he can be.

Hes scored some good goals for us over the years and set many up. A decent asset to have.
He simply is not Championship class and is very easy to defend against. Most teams with decent full backs find him easy to defend against.

I think Siege is a great player when he’s managed well, and when he’s combined with the right players. Early on in his tangerine career he looked like the first properly brilliant player we’d had in ages, and I think his development got stunted by the fact we tried to then build everything around his apparent talents. He’s good but he’s just not that guy, and if you have 2-3 players marking him at all times then he becomes completely ineffective.

Then, to be fair, after his injury I did wonder has he lost some of his speed and fearlessness. But he’s been good when used properly in recent times, and I have a feeling his best years are around the corner still.

The problem with CJ is when he is bad he is really bad. Poor control, lack of awareness, indecisive etc. But he can be a match winner and pleased he has improved recently. With hot and cold players like him, Poveda, Bowler etc it is going to be a rollercoaster season but if keep the faith they should between them have enough good days to win enough games.

He is when he's at it, he's proven he can hurt teams.

PNE when they came here had one of the best defences, couldn't handle him. All the teams I mentioned before couldn't at times.

With the amount of talent in our side it'll be very difficult for anyone side to mark one player out.

He has a part to play in the squad, whether some starts or off the bench. He hadls limitations but is handy to have.

Some people can’t bear to be wrong. CJ has been excellent
One Swallow doesn't make a summer and he now has to do that regularly and not once every two seasons.
I have already acknowledged he did ok but to say he got an assist when the bounced off his arm is stretching it a bit.
I like being proven wrong and if he can replicate that then great for him and the team.

Hole is getting deeper lad. Keep digging.

CJ is worth having, he won't do it every week, sometimes his touch is off, sometimes he's brilliant and when he plays and does well his crosses and play leads to goals and wins.

Not many other have been pulling up any trees recently.

He's not perfect but an asset when he's on it, hit or miss but at least he can be good.

When he plays too he's can add defensively as not many get the better of him with his pace.

When he's having one of his poor games it's a tough watch no doubt with some touches like passes etc.

We just have to accept what he can bring.

I agree he needs to keep it up be personally I think he has improved hugely this season and his pace is a weapon nobody else in the team provides.

I've said it time and time again... 1.CJ scares the life out of defenders with his pace and 2.His defensive duties are underestimated thanks to his pace. Pleased for him tonight... and for the 1 asking can he do it again? Well of course he can coz he also ripped the nobbers a new 1 👌

Playing players who aren’t good enough for this level is why we are struggling to stay here. Last night is close to the standard of what and where you need to be.

He has been a 4 or 5 out of 10 in the majority of his performances this season. Last night he was excellent.

He’s got to produce, it’s his job but he’s limited and Blackpool fans love limited players. Hence why they loved Turton. Even though I was screaming out for an upgrade like Gabriel and Lyon’s because similar to CJ, there are far better footballers required to be at this level.

What more does this guy have to do to win the fans over? He’s an unplayable when played in his proper position and his goal today was sublime.

I wish the haters would get off this guys back and give him a boost in confidence cause by now we all know what he’s capable of!

Keep it up CJ!
3 more assists last night than Bowler has made all season.

Cj is left footed

Anyway he can't trap a bag of cement and doesn't have much composure on the ball

However if you play to his strengths then he can be a danger

He needs the ball infront of him and he needs to play high, if we do that then he's OK

Last night was his best game since Preston when he played in a similar role

I agree to some extent but that in my opinion was not the only performance from CJ that impressed me this season. He does need to be more consistent but he terrorises defenders with his pace and has done so as a sub a couple of times.

I liked Turton as he worked hard but agree he was no world beater and while I agree Lyons is defensively an upgrade Gabriel is as flawed defensively as Turton was going forward.

Surely CJ isn’t getting away with that utter dogshit performance? Criminal. You can’t play like you did on Tuesday and then have 9 off games.

Came up against an experienced and decent right back and was sat in his pocket all ** game.

Dougall and CJ were ** shite today.
Kurt, I didn't say anything after the performance the other night as most people wouldn't believe me.
I watched the full 90 back and after the first 20 minutes, he was pretty shit from then on when watched in isolation.

CJ continues to prove the doubters wrong, played brilliantly last night and was a major factor in the victory
words that come back to haunt you. awful today only surpassed by Dougall. No doubters at all about how bad he was today. One swallow does not a summer make! Kurt is spot on. CJ producing the odd good ten minutes just isn't acceptable at championship level.

CJ just isn't good enough for this league, and neither is Dougall. They're the two weakest links in the team, and would be the first two to replace I think in order to progress, even if we go down.

Sadly I have to agree with you.
I'll add Captain Callum to that list.
Connolly was horrendous on the ball today.

Hit 2 or 3 into the crowd when under little pressure. 2nd half was worse when he played a neat 1-2 and then just stopped wanting all the time in the world and got it pinched off him.

Always gives 100% and great squad player but he’s been in pretty much every starting 11 which sums up our season.

Haunt me? :)

CJ unfairly singled out and targeted by his haters, he has been performing for a while. Who was good today?

he's targeted because he's shiite. It's nonsense to say he's been performing for while. You carry on remembering his good ten minutes every ten games or so if you want but most of us will remember his inabilty to trap a ball. And his crosses that are more of a danger to the the person it hits in the crowd than any defence on the pitch. A point I've been making pretty much since he first joined us.

We will have to agree to differ, 3 assists the other night a right good ten minutes.

To me, I don't understand all this about CJ. he's never a 46 game starter, but is very much a horses for courses player- some starts when right, some sub cameos the same.

Saturday wasn't a good day for him and he probably should have been subbed just after HT. Another day, he's on fire.

At least the debate is now about CJ playing in his proper(ish) position as opposed to playing on the right, where I would never play him in a month of Sundays, yet many on here condemned him to a L2 loan based on that.

edit. The other thing with CJ is you know what you're going to get from him pretty early on.

I dare you to watch him in isolation in the QPR game on TT/V and he was dog shit after the first 20 minutes or so.
It is not about hating him it's about him not being a football player in 90% of the games he plays.

3 assists in a single championship game is not dog shit.
Also, a half-hearted challenge that lead to their goal and did the sum total of nothing until the next game.
Where he missed a sitter was to blame in the build-up to their second goal with an embarrassing attempt at a tackle and was dog shit for 90 minutes or however long he played.

Three more than Bowler all season, but apparently he is a must
That’s got to be you trying to get a bite from 20s. In isolation he isn’t good enough. Bowler isn’t motivated or being played properly in his position. There’s the difference.

I’d argue actually that we need better if we get relegated too.
