Tell that to Graves.Just watched game back on ttv.
CJ was shocking. 68 mins on pitch.
He had ONE run forward beat his man then lost it.
Every touch he gave it away.
0 headers 0 tackles as per.
Gabriel did ten times more in 25 mins.
How does he ever start?

And how must the players feel when they are carrying a very ineffective player week in and week out waiting for that 1 in 10 light bulb game?On his day he's unplayable, sadly one game in 10 is simply unsustainable. How Critchley thinks he's a starter is baffling - maybe a competent journalist would ask the question.
I’ve replied in the other thread. I agree he wasn’t on it at Shrews, and I wouldn’t have necessarily started him. But, a win is a win.Tell that to Graves.
Normally players improve after signing a new contract, he’s literally gone to pot
Having said that, he’s never a wingback and he could only improve in a 442 with Gabriel behind him so that’s on Critchley
From the other thread.
All players go in and out of form. I loved joining in the CJ olè chant earlier in the season and you could see CJ revelling in it.
However he's simply not playing well at the moment and it's the Manager's job to recognise that and replace him.
For the record I don't actually think Gabriel is at his best either.
Gabriel not at his best is ten times the player CJ is though. Plus, he actually can be arsed to put effort inFrom the other thread.

I think it's fair to say that Jordan is far better suited to the current formation.Gabriel not at his best is ten times the player CJ is though. Plus, he actually can be arsed to put effort in
When he’s on form he’s worth a place in any team in this division, problem is he’s on form perhaps 1 game in ten.I’ve replied in the other thread. I agree he wasn’t on it at Shrews, and I wouldn’t have necessarily started him. But, a win is a win.
....and a few other CJ lovers tooTell that to Graves.
Neither of them do enough to block crosses. In fact despite five defenders when we go 'compact' it's been a constant weakness this season. A back four is so much better as a formation for me.I think it's fair to say that Jordan is far better suited to the current formation.
My concern about him however is he does give the opposition too much room to get crosses in.
JG Is a competent footballer but CJ is neither so I know which one would start 100/100 outside the weird and quite frankly bizarre Critchworld of coaching badges. From the other thread.

I think Critchley knows which one he'd start too with a choice. But it looks like there's some question marks around Jordan Gabriel's time on the pitch and the best way to manage it to make sure he's still in the 18 by the last game unless it becomes a dead rubber. And even more so now Andy Lyons has got injured.JG Is a competent footballer but CJ is neither so I know which one would start 100/100 outside the weird and quite frankly bizarre Critchworld of coaching badges.
I suggested that a little while ago and I accept I was wrong to suggest what it could be (told off by the mods)But I really do think there is something in the background that means they are scared to leave him out completely from the first 18 or whatever it is now.I wonder if there’s something else outside of football wrong with him ? He was so out of that game it’s ridiculous
Play me then as at least I understand football (a few would disagree) but at 63 with a gimpy leg I could do better at the moment.I think Critchley knows which one he'd start too with a choice. CJ is CJ but I think he's very much part of a cog in a wonky wheel rather than the antichrist on this one.
If CJ is not doing the business he can be sold to Derby for £1m in the summer..Just watched game back on ttv.

That is correct...never ever gets close enough to his man.I think it's fair to say that Jordan is far better suited to the current formation.

So what are his strengths ?If you play to his strengths he can be a real asset imho . Unfortunately Critchley is completely clueless . Tbh Neil has the same problem with several of our players .
No no 20’s, don’t put me in the CJ lover camp.....and a few other CJ lovers too
I thought that was pretty obvious . His pace requires balls into space for him to run onto . He’s not a wingback he’s a winger . No point in having the fastest man on the pitch in a full back position when we break especially as he can’t defend. Capable of a decent cross if played on the left . Just my opinion of course. So what are his strengths ?
It’s actually irrelevant as he’s rarely given the opportunity to use his paceCJ isn't as quick as he was either
Well, for starters, he's got a wonderful smile! So what are his strengths ?
A pretty brief summary, but as good an appraisel of La Critch as I've come across. If you play to his strengths he can be a real asset imho . Unfortunately Critchley is completely clueless . Tbh Neil has the same problem with several of our players .
I've got to ask, AR, but does said character hail from the North-East, by any chance? If so, if there are any Geordie Seasiders out there, I'm just wondering, if ever they were to make direct refererence to him in general conversation with someone (a fellow Geordie, maybe), would they preface any point they were intending to make, by way of the introductory opening couplet: "Wor Graves ..."?Tell that to Graves.
I have often wondered how skilled players not playing when he is so atrocious of late must feel deep down knowing he gets a free ride off Critchley.I wondered whether there was something wrong on Saturday. I also noticed a reluctance to pass to him
There’s always players that pull out off challenges so I wouldn’t hammer him for that.If you are played out of position there is zero excuse for bottling tackles, mis controlling the ball and letting it go out for a throw in continuously.
CJ didn't prove he was good enough in the Championship, he was absolutely shite and we got relegated!
You are delusional if you think CJ Hamilton is a good player and because he's "playing right wing back" he's not having a good time of it.
He was playing in literally a wingers position on Saturday because of how forward we were and he put in the most pathetic performance I've seen from a Blackpool player to add to the other 20 he's had this season.
He was scared of his own shadow the other day and has been pretty pathetic in almost every game he has started since his new deal. There’s always players that pull out off challenges so I wouldn’t hammer him for that.
I agree there are games where CJ would probably be better starting off on the bench but that’s down to Critchley.
I didn’t watch the game on Saturday so I can’t comment on that particular performance.
I think the problem is that apart from Dembele we have nobody else that can take a player on and go past them.
CJ can so that’s why he starts more than he doesn’t.
