He is not a right back, never was and never will be. We have a right back, so play him. That's a load of rubbish.

Ok I stand corrected.
But he's hardly been given a real opportunity there has he? And was filling in having trained to play elsewhere.
However the side at Millwall was:
C Maxwell, L Garbutt, C Connolly (s/o 14), R Keogh, Marvin Ekpiteta, K Dougall, R James, K Anderson, J Bowler (T John-Jules, 88), S Lavery (K Stewart, 67), J Yates(C Hamilton, 76)
So it would appear he was at RB with Marv and Keogh in the centre.
Let's stick to the truth folks!
100%, awesome squad player for his versatility.I think he's best on the bench as it gives us cover for 3-4 different positions as legs begin to tire.
On the pitch though I would probably go for combative defensive mid as his best position.
mmm..not sure I ever thought Clarke was too small or too slow for either position, Those thoughts never crossed my mind. Thought he was an outstanding player for us the time he was with us. Thorniley and Connolly, two players who I didn't really think were great at first and I still don't think they're great now but they've both done a good job for us stepping into positions where they weren't probably considered first choice. Generally two pretty consistent players but a manager will likely spend a lot more time assessing their performance, strengths and weakesses than us amateurs will do. Overall, I'd say yes we can get better and probably within budget too.Reminds me of Peter Clarke to small for a centre half and to slow for a RB.
He leaves everyone on the pitch always a 7 and never lets you down a top pro.
I am not disagreeing but it speaks volumes that we didnt win the match and in fact could easily have lost it...at some point we have to draw a line in the sand if we cannot win games...if we dont beat Watford then we have Huddersfield next ...if we dont win that then what?Based on Boxing Day, I reckon I could get a game at Hull.
If we lose those two I think he'll be gone tbh.I am not disagreeing but it speaks volumes that we didnt win the match and in fact could easily have lost it...at some point we have to draw a line in the sand if we cannot win games...if we dont beat Watford then we have Huddersfield next ...if we dont win that then what?
even two draws would not really help us and if it goes on we will soon be bottom of the pile with little prospect of a new man getting us out of the messIf we lose those two I think he'll be gone tbh.
100% agree .. I really rate Connolly and be interesting to see where in the side he fits in when everyone is back.He is not a right back, never was and never will be. We have a right back, so play him.
