Corbeneau

Takes too many touches and tries to do too much at times, he can be alright.

Frustrating though as not a lot comes off.

Thorniley maybe but Yates was anonymous. Maybe Dougall but everyone else stunk.
Oh, you didn't see Jerry having to cover the ineptitude of Luke Garbutt over and over again.
If Garbutt had done his job properly then Jerry may have been able to get forward more.

If Garbutt hadn't been injured pre season and before the transfer window closed he wouldn't even be at the club. That is our problem, far too many players who are just not good enough.

Beats himself six times before beating a man, but there were far worse than him on the pitch tonight. Having said that he does remind me of a newborn giraffe at times.

Corbeanau clearly has some ability but he has the footballing IQ of a watermelon.

Needs to start learning what to do when he gets in promising positions sharpish.

Not allowed to criticise the transfer window on here, apparently we're on the Notts Forest model of quality loans.

I tried to be positive and thought that Garbs would have a good game tonight and push for a regular game at LB knowing that Dom is a bit shaky there at the moment. Well l got that badly wrong and should have known better having seen him in a couple of Academy games recently where he’s been less than impressive!🥴

Corbeanau shouldn't be starting. He's too much of a luxury atm. Both CJ and Poveda look a better shout for the next two games.

No problem with him coming on for the last 15 if the game is stretched.

Poveda must be wondering why we bothered taking him on loan.
Grabbed at the first name circulated our way to get a body in when they'd made the decision to sell Bowler for some magic beans

Arrived not at 100% but he'll probably get a go again soon by virtue of there being nobody else left to send on up front.

We're a couple of games away from Insider chaining himself to one of the posts wearing a PICK ROB APTER t-shirt

After that performance e I'd settle for a recall Virtue t-shirt !!

I’d like a crate of whatever the people who chose him for man of the match were drinking. If CJ puts that performance in he gets crucified. You can’t blame someone for a lack of ability but he didn’t fancy it at all tonight.
Why you should never give MOTM to a corporate table whose experience of football is watching England play once a year - that said, I can’t think of anyone better!

Corbeanu is the least of our worries. Madine as a lone striker is a far bigger concern.
Madine is shite. Game after game but the fanboys won't have it. Gets significant leeway that even our junior players don't get. I find it bizarre.

I think you misunderstood my post about Poveda.
I wondered why we signed him because I've been totally unimpressed by him so far.
I not sure if I would start Wright if we had a fully fit squad but he has shown far more glimpses of his ability than Poveda has, IMO.

He has moments when he reminds of Bowler a lot. Not tonight so much. But don’t think anyone quite deserved MOTM tonight.
I think he is even more similar to bowler, in that he has a couple of tricks up his sleeve, a little bit of pace, has an occasional goal in him, and is a completely head down player who doesn't see the simple pass and if he does it almost always a second or two too late, the one time he got a cross in relatively early we scored. but the number of times (like Bowler) he just runs up blind alleys or just tries to do too much creates a lot of frustration with the rest of the team, he beats a man he created some space but hardly ever lets the ball go. AND. He doesn't really press aggressively in the same way Jerry, Lavery, Carey and even Wright and Patino do (and Madine) and defensively he's a liability.

I think if wright is played further forward then hes a good player, and hes an energetic player and previous games hes really got stuck in and made good interceptions as well as working well going forward. last night alongside Patino as a pair of psuedo defensive or just a deep lying midfielders it was never going to work.

Poveda has looked tricky in a couple of games with a bit more of an eye to team mates but to be fair he's probably had less than 90 minutes on the pitch.

Bit harsh calling him shit but as a lone striker, I'd be more useful having a picnic on the penalty spot.
Possibly. Completely ineffective then. Consistently so.

Not a handful AT ALL despite so many fans seeming to kid themselves, seeing what simply isn't there.

In his defence he was good for about 60 minutes against Watford and Sheffield United but usually he offers very little attacking threat. I doubt he gives any average Championship centre back a sleepless night at the thought of playing against him.

He was, fair play, but I think GM looks a better player when Jerry and Lavery are both running riot. He isn't going to make that space for himself, or for others.

We just have to accept that it's either Madine or we don't have a presence up front.

Most of the hero worship stuff is tongue in cheek because everyone knows that if the club would pay for a Gyokeres or a Riis then Madine would move to the Head of Shithousery role. To send on for a few mins to help see a game out or try to change the course of it. For which he'd probably appreciate as well because I reckon he'll be retired within 18 months.

Fair enough, I accept we haven't really got anyone else but every post about him is overstated imo. For example - your very mild praises - I don't think he is a presence and I'm not even sure he's good in the 'shithouse' role either.

I just don't see what he's bringing to the party.

perhaps fans on here overstate about him in the same way you did/do about Haughton at AFC.

Well he's more of a physical presence in the middle of a three in a 4-1-2-3 than Yates back to goal trying to hold the ball up against two big centre halves is. Who when Critchley first showed up and tried to play that way - in league one - felt just as naive as anything we've felt about the overall way things are headed this year.

Short of starting with ten men I don't know what to say to you apart from we've got what we've got so just have to try and make the most of it.
