Seriously? A very well known DJ on radio and TV.Who'es he then.
Well ,I am not going to know him from the radio and if he is a modern DJ ,the music that is played is sub standard so I would not watch his show.Seriously? A very well known DJ on radio and TV.
He does the folk show on Radio 2. Very modernWell ,I am not going to know him from the radio and if he is a modern DJ ,the music that is played is sub standard so I would not watch his show.
Cultured is an interesting word! But only for the later version of the band, not the original punk band. Also was the drummer for a short time in the cultured FY6 ensemble Skrewdriver
He was at uni with one of the original band before they went extremeAlso was the drummer for a short time in the cultured FY6 ensemble Skrewdriver
That's the last time I listened to him.He and Marc Riley's afternoon show on radio 1 was great.
I'm going back about 30 years though!!
You are correct about the twin.Cultured is an interesting word! But only for the later version of the band, not the original punk band.
Weird and random thought I seem to remember one of the guitarists from the original FY6 lineup being a twin. And a house on or near Robins Lane... its a lifetime ago though and my few remaining brain cells play games with my memory.
Indeed they were. I’ve still got my Shirehorses CD somewhere.Mark and Lard were the finest presenters Radio 1 ever had.
Certainly above that nonce Peel.

There was an unsavoury association with right-wing extremism at one time. Donaldson and Poulton spring to mind.Cultured is an interesting word! But only for the later version of the band, not the original punk band.

Think it was supporting Motorhead on tour? Also was the drummer for a short time in the cultured FY6 ensemble Skrewdriver
Yeah Ron Hartley who replaced him & had is face on the front cover even though he didn't play on the album. Ron, Grinny & Don all now dead.Mark was at the match with two old mates who support Exeter and the mighty respectively, along with his longtime best pal Phil - who played all the guitar on all skrewed up before an altercation with Skewy Don (who wanted all the writing royalties) saw him leave in a hurry. I sit with Phil's brother in the North.
Phil accompanied me in 1980 to buy my first ever guitar, a 1975 L/h Telecaster from A1 Music in Manchester , which I still own. Mark was working in radio production at either Piccadilly or the Beeb at the time and we dropped by to show him the guitar.
We all had a pint or so in Schickers after the game. Haven't seen Phil or Mark for a good little while so it was good to catch up
Thanks for that ,but I am more of a soul manHe does the folk show on Radio 2. Very modern
Is he a mysteron . Captain Scarlet will sort him.
Who was the lad who I'm sure was in the band who moved to Manchester, spoke with him loads but never got his name? He'd have a son, probably mid 30's, slightly less.Yeah Ron Hartley who replaced him & had is face on the front cover even though he didn't play on the album. Ron, Grinny & Don all now dead.
no,that's me
You thinking of Kev MacKay? Played bass I think.Who was the lad who I'm sure was in the band who moved to Manchester, spoke with him loads but never got his name? He'd have a son, probably mid 30's, slightly less.
Big Pool fan. Average height, short blackish hair. LOL, send that over to the identikit team.
Don't know, never got his name despite talking to him for quite a while, often. Or perhaps I've forgotten it?You thinking of Kev MacKay? Played bass I think.
Thank you! At least I can rely on the few remaining brain cells, just about. You are correct about the twin.
Aye I remember all that very well. And when he died. There was an unsavoury association with right-wing extremism at one time. Donaldson and Poulton spring to mind.
I will ask! As mentioned, all the other originals bar Phil are dead. Donaldson became a nasty character and had quite a little gang round him in his PLF days. Pretty laughable really when you consider the boiling cauldron of multiculturalism that was Poulton, indeed the whole West Fylde back in the late 70's.Don't know, never got his name despite talking to him for quite a while, often. Does he fit the bill?
edit Have a feeling he was early doors and left.
Well I wasn’t aware of that little factoidAlso was the drummer for a short time in the cultured FY6 ensemble Skrewdriver
Back in the 70's in PLF not all of us were in the NF or agreed with them but a lot were just young lads who were Punks, then Mods then Skinheads, some jumped on the young NF bandwagon influenced by Donaldson but there were ex older tory nazis hanging around trying to get the local youth into the NF, they were the real driving force behind it. I even grew my hair and went a bit Ramones to look different from them, luckily most of them went through the phase & realized it was not right.I will ask! They were certainly very different days all round. NF recruiting outside football grounds, marches and demos. On the other side, the Anti Nazi League and Rock against Racism. Ska, skins, punks, mods, rockers, all of that and more. Made gigs pretty lively! Later, the miners strike and all that manufactured class war brought with it.Back in the 70's in PLF not all of us were in the NF or agreed with them but a lot were just young lads who were Punks, then Mods then Skinheads, some jumped on the young NF bandwagon influenced by Donaldson but there were ex older tory nazis hanging around trying to get the local youth into the NF, they were the real driving force behind it. Did you go disguised as Mark Radcliffe?no,that's me
I avoided the scene. I was no skinhead and didn’t want to be involved in the politics.I will ask! As mentioned, all the other originals bar Phil are dead. Is he wearing Crocs?
