England v Poland (Wed)

Strong looking England team, although I'm not Phillips' biggest fan. Hope he proves me wrong. Some great young players in midfield: Mount, Foden, Grealish. Very strong part of our squad.

John Stones is having a great season but always contains a big mistake somewhere in there. I'd rather he made it now than in the knockout games.

Phillips shouldn't be anywhere near the team in my view, too slow, too negative and I've yet to see what he brings to England. Obviously with Grealish and Henderson missing he gets a start but I don't particularly like having 2 deep lying defensive midfielders against teams like Albania and Poland!

don't underestimate Poland. So far though I agree about Phillips though.

You can see our centre halves having plenty of the ball tonight as we keep possession. Let's hope they can pass it creatively

I was about to say that Sterling was looking a bit ropey then he made that run for the pen 😗
Impressed by Mount and Foden.

Decent game. Only criticism of guess who yes Stirling he hangs onto the ball for too long.
Sorry 20s I didn’t see your comment

Thought he was poor the other night, but his run got us the pen tonight, and he had another mazy run that nearly ended positive just after.

I wish Harry Kane would push up more. He comes deep too much, Poland won't mind him being there.

This fake crowd noise drives me mad & as for the ball every time someone kicks it it sounds like a bass drum. WTF 😳

See the u/21s won (2-1) but didn't qualify after conceding a goal in injury time.
Jones got sent off after a scuffle at the end of the match.
Probably Boothroyd's last game in charge.
I hope they don't want Critchy.

Sterling is a frustrating player. He's rightly (imo) in the team because he actually impacts the game, like winning the pen and getting into some great positions with his pace and skill. But then he'll play a very simple 5 yard pass that is nowhere near weighted correctly.

Mount and Foden have to stay in the first choice eleven, both looking really creative. I don't think Kane is making the most of them.
